OSHIMA-Nagisa is a mailing list dedicated to the discussion, interpretation, and news exchange of the famed Japanese auteur, who began his directing career in 1959.

Among the director's works are the now-(in)famous In the Realm of the Senses (Ai no Corrida, 1976) and the WWII psychological drama, Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence (1983.) Oshima's much anticipated new film, Gohatto, will see worldwide release in early 2000.

This list is dedicated to the complexity and insight of Oshima's much politicized visions, and to all of those who are interested in discussing Oshima, in a well-mannered and mutually respecting environment.
