properly. If you don't see the text then highlight below. :(

Okay, I just got this book and here are some interesting facts from it. Some
of this stuff has already been posted from other sources, but I'm repeating it
to show that it is in this book as well. There is stuff from POTC 1 and 2. I
don't know that everything that is in this book will be in the movie. Some of it
might be from early drafts of the script, or just background info Ted and Terry
have come up with. If you've never seen a book from the DK series, they are a
little like encyclopedias, not fiction books. It was written by Richard Platt
who is an expert on Pirates and was a costume consultant on DMC. There is a lot
in here about wardrobe. This is all paraphrase and condensed versions of the
information in the book. The words in italics are my observations.
Jack Sparrow was born on a pirate ship during a typhoon.
So either his mother was a pirate, or had been taken by pirates. Of the two, I
hope she WAS a pirate!
His hat has sentimental value and he has trapped scorpions in it's crown.
Given to him by a friend? Or maybe it was his father's? The hat, I mean, not the
scorpions.
The compass has supernatural power, it directs the owner to whatever his or her
heart desires, and Jack acquired it from Tia Dalma 7 years ago.
Jack escaped from the Turkish prison by sneaking out in an (already occupied)
coffin. He rows to The Black Pearl.
How did they know when he was going to escape?
Jack traded silk from China to a fencing master from Italy for swordsmanship
lessons.
Jack taught himself to shoot by aiming at bottles thrown from the rail of The
Black Pearl.
Port Royal is on the eastern tip of Jamaica and defends the larger Fort Charles.
The sinking boat Jack arrives on in POTC:COBP is a fishing trawler and it was
named Jolly Mon.
Which is an old Jamaican folktale and a great Jimmy Buffet song!
The Governor's mansion is in the nicest part of town, the St. Paul's district.
There are 8 years between the flashback in POTC:COBPO and the movie.
Will's master is named John Brown.
Darn, I have to change my fic now!
Will engraved his name on his sword.
Norrington becomes obsessed with catching Jack Sparrow. He orders his crew to
sail through a hurricane in pursuit, which wrecks the ship and gets him fired
from the Navy. He becomes a penniless drunk.
Barbossa wers blue ostrich feathers in his hat and his buttons are made from
melted down Incan silver. He obtained his gun from a Spanish pirate who
challenged him to a duel, and lost. His ring was plundered from a Venetian ship
and bears a small gold lion's head.
Ragetti's coat was stolen from a French nobleman.
Joshamee Gibbs is an old friend of Jack's. He served briefly in the Royal Navy
but deserted his post to turn back to piracy.
Elizabeth thinks she's been left at the altar when Will doesn't arrive for their
wedding. She is standing in the rain waiting for him when Lord Cutler Beckett
arrives with a squadron of Royal Marines and Will in handcuffs. He has warrants
for Will, Elizabeth and Norrington.

*Note: Due to people taking our pictures, removing tags, not crediting. We have
put all pictures with tags and they are not the complete form. We have cropped
all the pics to show we have the complete and untagged copies. We do not mind
sharing at all and if asked we will share them quickly but some boards and sites
do not have that respect and we have adjusted accordingly.
It's sad that we have things taken and have to take such measures but maybe
once people credit we can remove tags again. Thank you

*Spoilers from Sparrowrite
" Jack asks Jones exactly how many souls his own soul would be worth - Jones
replies "100 in 3 days time". Jack, greatly relieved, makes the deal and asks
Jones to send Will back over to the Pearl. Jones however says he will keep Will
as a good faith payment - which leaves only 99 more souls to find in 3 days.
Jones asks Jack if he can life with condemning an innocent man - a friend - to a
life time of servitude, while he (Jack) roams free" "Yep" Jack replies "I'm good
with it". Moments later the Flying Dutchman sails off with Will aboard leaving
Jack only 3 days to find 99 souls - there's only one place to go - Tortuga
(which, if you remember, is where Elizabeth is headed also.
In a corner of the Faithful Bride Jack sits, compass in hand as Mr. Gibbs goes
about the business of recruiting Jack's much needed 99 souls. Gibbs asks one of
the men in the cantina "what's your story"? The man is drunk and unshaven but
his eyes are clear.
The man replies that his story is the same – just one chapter behind. “I became
obsessed with capturing a notorious pirate - chased him across the seven seas. I
lost all perspective. I was consumed. The pursuit cost me my crew, my
commission, my life". Gibbs takes a closer look at the man and realizes that
it's Commodore Norrington. "Not anymore" says Norrington. "So what is it - do I
make your crew or not". Gibbs is too stunned to answer and the silence angers
Norrington even more. "So I am not worthy to serve under Captain Jack Sparrow,”
he roars. Then he turns and pulls his pistol "or should I just kill you now? He
asks while aiming at Jack. Jack quickly tells Norrington - "your hired".
Norrington pulls the hammer back and is about to shoot Jack anyway saying
something about old habits, etc. But he is stopped by other crewmembers of the
Pearl.
A wild shot goes off and Jacks crew and all the other pirates in the cantina out
for a night of sport join in the brawl. In the middle of all of this Norrington
has is sword out when suddenly a bottle is smashed over his head taking him
down. Standing over Norrington, dressed in her sailor clothing is Elisabeth. The
pirates toss Norrington out to the pigsty behind the bar and Elizabeth suddenly
recognizes Norrington. A moment later she kneels down in the mud and asks,
"James Norrington - what has the world done to you?" Norrington replies "Nothing
I didn't deserve". Slowly she helps him up and they make their way to the docks
where they walk right into Jack. Jack looks at Elizabeth but doesn't recognize
her in her disguise and asks if he has come to join the crew of the Pearl. "I've
come to find the man I love" Elizabeth declares. Jack replies that although he
is deeply flattered, his first and only love is the sea.
"I mean William Turner - Captain Jack Sparrow" Elizabeth replies. Jack finally
recognizes her and says, "Elizabeth - those clothes do not flatter you at all”.
Elizabeth explains that Will set out to find Jack and his compass and questions
Jack if he has seen Will. Jack replies that he is most unhappy to be the bearer
of bad news but Will was press-ganged into Davy Jones crew.
Norrington and Elizabeth laugh at the idea of Davy Jones and the Flying Dutchman
at which point Jack recognizes Norrington and tells him "you look bloody awful
mate. What are you doing here?" Norrington replies, "You hired me. I can't help
that your standards are lax".
All Elizabeth wants to do is find Will and Jack asks her is she is certain
that's what she really, really wants. Elizabeth assures Jack she is certain that
she wants to find a way to save Will. Jack tells her about the chest that
contains the still beating heart of Davy Jones. Whoever possesses that chest
possesses the leverage to command Jones to do whatever it is he, or she, wants -
including saving our brave William from his grim fate. That being said, Jack
places his compass in Elizabeth's hands. Elizabeth is skeptical and asks Jack if
he is telling the truth - to which Jack replies "every word, luv". Jack opens
the compass in Elizabeth's hand and watches the needle swing back and forth. "We
have our heading" he shouts to Gibbs and the Pearl and her crew are on their
way..... finally.
Spoiler #2
Follow-up spoiler summary below. This takes us up to Chapter 24. Please let me
know if this is too much information so I can tone down the next set if
necessary.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------\
--
Meantime, on the deck of the Flying Dutchman, Davy Jones sits playing an organ
of coral that seems to have grown right out of the ship itself. Elsewhere on
deck, crewmembers were hard at work – including Will Turner. He is hauling a
line when it suddenly slips through his hands and crashes to the deck. Instantly
the Bo’sun appears and in his hands he holds a cat-o-nine-tails. He grins at
Will and tells him that perhaps a whipping will remind him to stay on task.
Before the Bosun can take a swing, Bootstrap Bill reaches out and grabs the whip
and says that he will take all of Will’s punishment for him. Jones and asks Bill
why he would be willing to do this and Bootstrap motions towards Will and tells
Jones “that’s my son.” Wills is shocked at the sight of his father. With an evil
grin Jones tells the Bosun to hand his whip to the elder Mr. Turner. Bootstrap
protests – being asked to whip is own son is the worst possible punishment
however when the Bosun tries to take back
the cat-o-nine-tails Bill has no choice but to raise the lash and strike Will.
When it is over – Bill tells Will that the Bosun prides himself on cleaving
flesh from bone with every swing. Will – still in a state of shock of
discovering his father confesses to Bill that for over a year he has been trying
to convince himself that he killed his father to save him. Will explalins that
he lifted the curse Bill was under knowing it would mean his death. But at least
Bootstrap would no longer suffer the fate handed to him by Hector Barbossa.
Sadly, Bill explains to his son that there will be no escaping the Flying
Dutchman now that Will has made an oath. Will tells his father that he has sworn
no oath and Bootstrap begs Will to save himself and get away. Will says that he
cannot escape until he finds the key – and shows his father the drawing.
Aboard the Black Pearl, Jack finds Elizabeth filling in the names on the Letters
of Marque that she had taken from Beckett. Jack immediately snatches them away
and spotting the signature on the papers asks Elizabeth if Lord Cutler Beckett
is the man who wants his compass. Elizabeth replies that Beckett does not want
the compass so much as a chest. These words catch Gibbs attention. If the East
India Trading Company controls the chest – they’ll control the sea. Elizabeth’s
ears perk up – so that is why Beckett is so eager to get his hands on the chest.
It really has nothing to do with Jack Sparrow.
Elizabeth asks Jack to please give back the Letters of Marque but Jack just
smiles and pockets them. Elizabeth turns her back on Jack and infuriated walks
away. Norrington has been standing nearby listening in. As Elizabeth passes him
Norrington observes that there was a time when he would have given anything to
have Elizabeth look like that while thinking of him – just once. Elizabeth
stiffens at the suggestion that she might have an interest in Jack and pretends
that she does not know what Norrington is talking about – she simply trusts Jack
and that is all. As Norrington turns to walk away he leaves Elizabeth with one
final thought ---- did she ever wonder how her fiancé’ ended up on the Flying
Dutchman in the first place?
Back on the Dutchman, Will observes a game of Liars Dice being played by a few
of the Dutchman’s crew. Will asks his father what they are playing for and
learns that each man can bet the only thing that any of them have – years of
service to Jones. Will asks if any member of the crew can be challenged and
calls on Davy Jones. The crew goes silent and as if by magic Jones appears
instantly on deck and accepts the challenge. Will wages 100 years of service to
Davy Jones. Bootstrap is horrified and tries to convince Will not to play. Not
heeding his father's request, Will bets bet his father's freedom, having no idea
that Jack has been bargaining with his soul. Jones agrees and the game begins.
Will wins but is not yet satisfied and demands another game. This time Will bets
his own soul if he looses Jones gets an eternity of servitude; if he wins he
get's the prize he most desires as shows Jones the cloth drawing of the key.
Will slams his cup of dice down along with Jones’s when suddenly another cup is
slammed down too. Bootstrap has entered the game and matches Will’s wager with
an eternity of service to Jones. Will violently objects but Bill begins to bid.
Will begs his father not to do this but despite his son’s protests Bootstrap
continues to play. Will realizes that he can't win but tries to bluff with a
higher bid. Jones knows Will is lying and is ready to call him on it when
Bootstrap ups the bid. Of course Bill looses thereby freeing Will. Jones tells
Will to feel free to go ashore the very next time they make port. (NOTE: Davy
Jones cannot walk on land so there is very little chance of them making port).
Later that night, the Edinburgh Trader appears on the horizon near the Dutchman.
Bootstrap quietly points the Trader out to Will and tells him it’s his chance to
escape. Will nods in understanding but before he can get onto the passing ship
he sneaks into Davy Jones cabin to steal the key. Jones is sleeping while Will
creeps up and pushes the tentacle beard out of the way reaching for the key. He
eventually works the key off the chain and prepares to make his escape.
Bootstrap has readied a long boat for Will to use in his escape. Will's heart
aches to leave his father behind and he begs Bill to come with him. Bootstrap
tells him that he can't - that he's part of the ship now. Will tells his father
that he will return to free him and slips into the longboat and escapes the
Dutchman with the key. The next morning as Jones comes on deck, he sees the
sails of the Edinburgh Trader in the distance. He's absolutely
furious....demands to know who stood watch during the night. Of
course it was Bootstrap who claims to have fallen asleep during his watch.
Jones orders Will brought up on deck but soon realizes he is missing. Jones
pulls the chain from his shirt and sees the key is gone. Jones knows that there
is only one person behind this – Captain Jack Sparrow.
Will is picked up by Captain Bellamy and is now on board the Trader. He tells
Bellamy to put as many leagues behind them as he can. As he is warming up after
a night on the ocean - Will's eyes fall on Elizabeth's wedding dress - thrown
casually across a chair in the captain's cabin. He asks Bellamy where the dress
came from to which Bellamy replies that it was found aboard the ship. He
continues with the story that his crew thought it belonged to a spirit who would
bring bad luck upon them.....but the “spirit” really brought them good fortune.
The “spirit” told them to go to Tortuga where Captain Bellamy made a nice little
profit. Of course a number of his sailors did decided to stay in Tortuga. Will
smiles to himself and realizes that Elizabeth has escaped from prison and WAS on
Bellamy's ship.
A sailor on deck suddenly rushes into the captains cabin yelling that a ships
been spotted - not flying any colors. Will realizes that this is the Dutchman
and that he has doomed the ship and crew. He has barely finished speaking when
the Edinburgh Trader lurches to a sudden stop. The quartermaster figures they
must have hit a reef - after all, large ships do not just stop of their own
accord. Bellamy looks over the rail, trying to see what had halted them - the
sea looks empty. The crew is busy following their orders but when they turn to
Bellamy for further instructions he is gone. Looking out toward the sea they
witness Bellamy wrapped in a huge tentacle. The tentacle rises in the air with
Bellamy and then slaps the captain down upon the water. Having taken out the
captain, the Kraken comes back for the ship. The Kraken breaks the ship in two
and pulls it under. Shortly afterward, the sea grows calm and six men kneel on
the deck of the Flying Dutchman. Jones demands to
know the location of Will AND the key. Since Will is not among the six
surviving sailors, the Bo’ sun answers that Will must have been claimed by the
sea. Jones screams out that HE IS THE SEA and if Will was dead he would know it.
Jones is angry and scared - pacing the deck he realizes the chest is no longer
safe - knowing that Will has the key and is working with Jack. Jones orders his
crew to chart a course to Isla Cruces....he needs to get there before Jack or
Will arrives.
Holding fast to the stern of the Dutchman and able to hear every word on deck.
Will Turner now knew where the chest was hidden. Hunkering down on the stern he
had a ride to the chest and the key in his pocket.
While Will is hitching a ride to Isla Cruces in the Dutchman, Jack is headed to
the same island on the Black Pearl. The compass, now in Elizabeth’s hands, had
finally given him proper direction. Elizabeth doesn’t seem very happy so Jack
asks her if she is well. Elizabeth says that she thought she’d be married by
now. Jack smiles and tells her that he likes marriage - it’s like a wager on who
will fall out of love first.” Elizabeth moves away but Jack pursues her, telling
her that he – as a captain of a ship- could perform a marriage right here on
this deck right now.”
Elizabeth says no thank you to Jack’s hasty proposal. Jack is flabbergasted and
asks why not – that “we are so much alike, you and I....I and you”
Exasperated, Elizabeth turns on Jack and says they are nothing alike – Jack has
no sense of decency and honor nor a moral center. Jack considers these things to
be of no importance and assures Elizabeth that she will come over to his side in
time – he’s certain of that.
With a chill in her voice, Elizabeth replies that because they are alike, there
will come a time when Jack will have the chance to show it by doing the right
thing. Jack looks at her as if he can’t imagine what on earth something like
that might be. He looks puzzled, as if he is trying to figure it out. Elizabeth
finally tells that that she has faith in him because he is a good man – although
all current evidence points to the contrary.
Jack sees the tiny island of Isla Cruces on the horizon. As they make for the
shore, Jack sits in the longboat clutching his jar of dirt from Tia Dalma.
Opposite him are Elizabeth and Norrington – both trying to take seriously what
they see as Jack’s ridiculous behavior. Reaching shore, Jack hops out – takes
off his jacket and pat's the pocket to make sure the Letters of Marque are still
there. He places his jacket and the jar in the bow of the longboat and grabs a
shovel. Jack hands the compass to Elizabeth and they make their way up the
beach.
They come upon an abandoned church. Norrington turns to Elizabeth and says that
he didn’t expect anyone to be living on the island. Elizabeth assures him there
is not. She has heard the stories of this island since she was a little girl of
how the church came to the island and brought salvation and disease and death.
They say the priest had to bury everybody, one after the other and it drove him
mad and he hung himself. Suddenly the needle of the compass begins to swing
wildly – they have found the spot. They begin to dig.
At the same time, the Flying Dutchman sails around the point of Isla Cruces and
Davy Jones sees the longboat. He knows that Jack and Will have beat him to the
island. Since Jones cannot step foot on land again for nearly 10 years, he tells
his crew to hunt them down and retrieve the chest and the key.
Meanwhile back on the island, Jack, Elizabeth and Norrington give a start when
the shovel suddenly clanks against something hard. Jack jumps into the hole and
helps lift the chest out. Jack breaks the lock with the shovel and opens the
chest. Inside are memories of Jones’ lost love. Beneath that, Jack finds the
box. It is locked tightly, but the sound of a single heart beat can be heard
coming from inside. Norrington is astounded that Jack was actually telling the
truth. Jack looks at Norrington and says that he does that a lot but people are
still surprised. Suddenly, a voice off to the side makes everyone turn. Will
Turner has arrived, out of breath and soaking wet. Elizabeth rushes to him and
throws her arms around his neck.
Jack looks worried and asks Will how he got to the island. Will replies that he
managed to get there with a pair of sea turtles strapped to his feet. Will
continues – telling Jack that he actually is grateful to him – despite being
tricked onto the Flying Dutchman to settle his debt – Will managed to be
reunited with his father. In that moment, Elizabeth realizes that every single
thing Jack has told her is a lie. She is furious and turns on him. Jack simply
nods yes and offers no explanation or apology. Jack then notices Will kneeling
by the chest with the key in one hand and a knife in the other. Will is
unlocking the chest and is prepared to stab the still beating heart of Davy
Jones – thereby killing Jones and securing his father’s freedom.
In a flash, Jack draws his sword and presses it against Will’s throat. telling
him that he can’t let Jones be killed because there will be no one to call his
beastie (Kraken) off the hunt. Jack holds out his hand and demands the key. Will
slaps Jack’s sword away, jumps back and grabs the cutlass Elizabeth was
carrying. Facing off against Jack Will informs him that he keeps the promises he
makes – he intends to free his father. Suddenly Norrington draws his sword and
turns it on Will telling him that he can’t let Will do that. Jack is delighted
with the turn of events and thinks that Norrington has taken his side in the
fight for the key. In a surprise move, Norrington points his sword toward Jack
and reveals his true intention – that Lord Beckett desires the contents of the
chest and if he (Norrington) delivers it – he will get his old life back.
The three men spring forward, their swords all locked together in a clash of
steel.
Jack yells to Will that they can’t let Norrington get the chest. Needless to
say, Will is less than trusting in Jack Sparrow at this point in time. Jack
finally concedes that Will can mistrust him less than he can mistrust
Norrington. As Will stops to consider this statement, he finally recognizes
Norrington and tells him “you look awful.” Norrington replies that although he
may look awful, Will is still naive......Jack just wants Elizabeth for himself.
Jack’s response is three words in the midst of the
fight.....pot.....kettle.....black.
Will tells Elizabeth to guard the chest as the three men swing at each other.
Elizabeth is beside herself and tries to make them stop – yelling that this is
not how grown men settle their differences. They three men pay her no attention.
From between the palm trees, Ragetti has been watching the scene. Pintel arrives
beside him and asks him what’s going on. Crouching low. they both eye the chest.
Ragetti explains that each wants the chest for himself – Mr. Norrington is
hoping to regain his honor – Jack is looking to trade it and save his own soul
and young Mr. Turner is trying to settle some unresolved business between him
and his pirate father who has been twice cursed. Pintel continues saying that
the chest must be worth a fortune and that if he and Ragetti were decent men,
they would remove temptation from the path of the three fighting men. The two
pirates give each other a sideways glance and creep toward the chest.
Elizabeth, still trying to stop the sword fight, falls to the sand, pretending
to faint in the hope that the men would halt their battle and help her. She lays
still as long as she can, then opens her eyes in time to catch Pintel and
Ragetti making off into the jungle with the chest.
Jumping to her feet she is torn for a moment between telling Will or chasing the
chest. She decides to go after the pirates.
Meanwhile the flight is in full swing and is moving all over the island.
Norrington shoves Will and the key is dropped. The key lands in Jack’s hand and
he takes off running down the beach. Norrington and Will are momentarily stunned
but quickly take off in pursuit of Jack.
Jack heads for the old church. Racing into the bell tower, key in hand, he
climbs the wooden stairs. High above him, dangling from a rope is the skeleton
of the hanged priest. Jack nods towards the skeleton and continues his climb.
Norrington and Will quickly catch up to Jack on the stairs. Norrington swings
his sword at Jack but Jack steps aside just in time. The sword misses but
Norrington manages to slam Jack with the hilt of his sword, grab and key and
push Jack from the stairway.
As Jack falls, he reaches out and grabs the bell tower rope. Jack and the
skeleton both drop straight down but Will manages to grab the second rope and is
lifted up just as Jack is making his way down. Will snatches the key from
Norrington as he passes him near the top of the tower. When Will reaches the top
of the tower, the church bell begins to ring.
Down on the beach, Jones’ crew rise from the water and make their way to shore.
They all gather at the now empty hole. Suddenly, the sound of the church bell
draws their attention and they watch as Will steps out onto the rooftop. Will is
now trying to escape from Jack, from Norrington and from Jones crew. He jumps
across a break in the roof when Norrington, using the point of his sword lifts
the key from Wills grasp. Norrington feels the key fall into his hand, but it
disappears just as quickly as Jack takes it away from him. Norrington knocks
Jack’s sword from his hand and looking over his shoulder at Will tells him to
please take a break while he kills the man who ruined his life. Will relaxes for
a moment while Jack attempts to talk his way out of the situation – pointing out
to Norrington that was not he (Jack) who ruined his life.....that it was Will
who saw fit to free Jack from prison and steal Miss Turner away. Norrington
doesn’t let Jack continue and continues
slashing at him. Now without a weapon, Jack throws up his hands and slides down
the roof. The key drops to the ground.
Back on the roof, Will applauds Norrington’s actions. Norrington, however, turns
his blade on Will telling him that Jack was right. Norrington hates Jack but he
isn’t fond of Will either.
Below them, Jack takes advantage of the fight on the roof, grabs the key from
the ground and starts running. Just when he thinks he is safe, he stumbles into
an open grave.
As Jack tries to get out of the hole, Will leaps on to a mill wheel that is
attached to the side of the church. Norrington jumps on as well and the wheel
suddenly breaks free. Just as Jack finally pulls himself out from the grave, he
is caught up by the rolling wheel. They key falls away from Jack and hooks on a
splintered nail on the surface of the wheel. A moment later, Jack is thrown off
the wheel – having lost the key again and takes off after the runaway wheel.
Meanwhile, Elizabeth finally catches up with Pintel and Ragetti. Realizing she
has no weapon she starts to back away as the two pirates advance towards her.
They are about to attack when they hear a noise and see something crashing
through the jungle. The three of them turn to see the mill wheel roll past with
Jack Sparrow running at full speed behind it. As they are watching the wheel in
amazement, an axe hits the tree next to Ragetti’s head. Davy Jones crew has
arrived.
Pintel and Ragetti drop their swords, grab the chest and make a run for it.
Elizabeth picks up both of their weapons and with a sword in each hand races
through the trees behind them. Running as fast as they can while still holding
onto the chest, the pirates try to pass on either side of a tree. The chest
slams into the trunk and drops to the ground. Just as this happens, Jones crew
bursts through the clearing. Pintel, Ragetti and Elizabeth make a quick decision
and the three of them take off leaving the chest behind.
Back on another part of the island, the chase is still going on. Jack is after
the wheel and for the first time is running next to the wheel instead of behind
it. He focuses on the key as it rolls around and timing his move perfectly,
jumps back into the wheel. From the top of the wheel, Will sees what Jack is
doing and reaches down to grab the key from the nail. Norrington is quick to
follow but Jack manages to grab the key from Will, climb to the top of the wheel
and then jump into a nearby palm tree. Dangling from the palm, Jack notices one
of Jones crew members carrying the chest. Reaching for a coconut Jack throws it
at the crewman’s head. The coconut hits its mark as the crewman’s head rolls
off. Jack jumps down.......no other crewmen are in sight. With the key in his
hand Jack approaches the chest. Kneeling beside the chest, he turns the key in
the lock. Inside is Jones’ heart. Jack reaches into the chest and removes the
heart. Taking off his shirt, he wraps the
heart safely up. Then, making sure he has not been spotted he heads towards the
beach and to the longboat. Reaching into the boat he grabs the jar of dirt from
Tia Dalma, empties some of the dirt onto the beach and places the heart in the
jar. He fills the remaining space in the jar with sand.
Jack looks up just as Pintel, Ragetti and Elizabeth run out of the jungle. They
are hauling the chest and Jones’ crewmen are close behind. Elizabeth bravely
tries to fight the undead pirates off but it is no use. She is about to be
overrun when the huge mill wheel comes crashing from out of the jungle. The
wheel rolls over several of Jones crewmen which allows Elizabeth to catch up to
Pintel and Ragetti.
Jack is less than pleased with how crowded the beach has become. He tucks his
jar back into the bow of the boat and gets ready to shove off.
The huge wheel finally rolls into the water and falls over with a splash.
Norrington staggers over to the longboat and collapses. His eyes fall on Jack’s
jar. Jack watches as Norrington’s hand moves past the jar and reaches for the
letters of Marque in his coat pocket. Jack does not try to stop him – he has no
need for the papers now that he has the heart that controls Davy Jones and
provides safe passage for every ship that sails the seven seas.
Suddenly, through the chaos, Will notices the chest. The key is still in the
lock and he leans down to open it. Not wanting Will to find out that the heart
is missing from the chest, Jack hits Will in the head with an oar. Will falls
unconscious. Elizabeth rushes to his side. With the overwhelming odds, Elizabeth
realizes just how desperate the situation has become. She tells Norrington that
she doesn’t think they are going to get out of this alive. Norrington looks at
her and admits that the situation is bleak – they’re not getting out of this as
long as they have the chest. Norrington grabs the chest and orders Elizabeth
into the boat telling her not to wait for him. He disappears down the beach into
the jungle with Jones’ crew after him.
Elizabeth tells Jack that they cannot leave Will behind. Jack rolls his eyes but
orders Pintel land Ragetti to haul Will into the boat. Without another word they
push off - leaving Norrington behind.

This is how people are getting the newest spoilers. A book is out early with the
entire story but everybody is disputing how accurate it is at this point and
these blurbs are all over message forums now.
Posting more spoiler pics and spoilers on the site (wherestherum.com) today
Well, I just read the first chapter and it starts out as two wooden coffins
are let out to the sea and a crow lands on one in which it gets shot then out of
the coffin comes out captain jack sparrow himself..from there jack gets abard
the black pearl and he tells his crew that he has found a piece of cloth and
that it is a drawing of a key and mr gibbs says why do we need the cloth and
jack says we just need it .Gibbs says to the crew that jack has been acting
strange lately.
Next chapter talks about how will turner and elizabeth's wedding is ruined
because of the weather and then these royal navy guys come and hand a warrant to
elizabeths dad saying that elizabeth,Will, and norrington are arrested but
norrington has left and has not been seen from anyone on the island. The guards
arrest will and elizabeth.
Next chapter is of jack on the black pearl checking his compass saying something
is wrong with it then from behind bootstrap bill is there and says that his time
is p and that davy jones doesnt want to wait any longer jack is surprised as to
bootstraps appearence.Bootstrap says that he was on the bottom of the ocean and
that he made a deal with davy to join his crew then bootstrap touches jacks hand
and the dark spot appears then bootstrap dissapears(like in the teaser)Jack is
scared and tells his crew to keep sailing the black pearl and to find any sort
of land.Mr gibbs says hes acting strange again.
Next you find out that the man that captred will and elizabeth is lord beckett
and that he wants will to find and get jacks compass for him or he will not
release elizabeth so will goes to tortuga to find jack and the guys at tortuga
says he went to singapore and things like that but will spots the black pearl at
the island next to tortuga so he goes to that island and there he is shot with a
dart.
While WIll is at the island he wakes up to see himself getting strapped to a
piece of wood being carried by the cannibal people of the island.Their leader is
......JAck sparrow! Will tells jack to let him go and all but jack is speaking in
another language to the natives but he does mumble help me in english to
will. Will gets put in a cage where the crew of the black pearl is their they say
they have been captured and that these people think that jack is their god only
in human form so the natives will eat jack so the god will not be in human form.
Next chapter talks about how Elizabeth is taken away to a cell similar to the
one in the first film..Anyways her father comes in and unlocks her .He says one
of the guards helped her. They run and go to the carrige but lord becketts
servant stops them but elizabeth runs away. You find out that she has now
disguised herself as a sailor on a ship.
---------------------------------
Next few chapters jack is about to get eaten when will and the black pearl
crew escape .So the cannibals run after the crew instaed of jack.Meanwhile
pintel and ragetti have just escaped prison by getting the keys from the dog.THe
dog comes with them as they row in the ocean they eventually find the pearl and
try to get it back.Back to jack he somehow escapes but a little cannibal boy
tells the rest of the cannibal to run after him as they run Will and the crew go
to the pearl but Will says"WHeres jack I cant leave with out him."Then you see
jack running while the cannibals chase him.Eventually the dog comes and barks at
the cnnibals getting jack to be on the black pearl.
Anyway lets get back on subject,Will is on the black pearl with Jack and his
crew. Will says to Jack that he needs the compass to save elizabeth.Jack says
that that has a familiar ring to it.Anyways,Jack says I'll give it to you if you
help me find the key that was on the cloth in the beginning of the book. Will
agrees.Elsewhere,Elizabeth tricks the sailors on the boat shes in in to going to
Tortuga to find will. The sailors sail to Tortuga.Meanwhile back to the
Pearl,Gibbs is telling the story of Davy Jones and the Kraken. How the Kraken is
Jones's pet and that it can suction up peoples faces and take down whole
ships. He also says of Jack owing a debt to Davy because he brought the pearl ack
from the depths of the oceans. The Black pearl was heading to Tia dalma.

This Pirate Has Quite The Ego
Never before has a drunken pirate had such an ego as the charismatic Jack
Sparrow. More full of himself than a stranded cannibal, Captain Jack Sparrow
always had quite the large head. With the onset of his second film, he's gotten
even more of a big head about himself and as such we were forced to reflect
that. The Jack Sparrow HeadKnocker is based on his appearance in Pirates Of the
Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, the sequel to the phenomenal hit Pirates of the
Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl. Here is a look at the new Jack Sparrow
HeadKnocker, ready for his next swig of wine. Look for him in stores this May!

WALT DISNEY WORLD, Fla. -- You'd think Celine Dion would have gotten the best
seat in the
restaurant that night. But no, there the pop diva was--our gossipy waiter had
pointed her out--filing in from the open-air observation deck with the rest of
the crowd. Meanwhile I sat regally at a table by a vast window and, between
courses, enjoyed an unobstructed view of the very same fireworks that poor
little Celine had schlepped out to see.
I didn't have special tickets or
celebrity status or Disney connections or even press privileges to pave my way.
As a greenhorn to Walt Disney World, I didn't even have a prior visit for a
frame of reference.
No, I had something better than all that: the
expertise of Bruce Pecho, native Chicagoan, authority on Walt Disney World and
lifelong Disney enthusiast, making his 41st trip to WDW to light my way. As a
kid who'd already been to Disneyland in California, Bruce studied everything he
could get his hands on about the new park that would open in Florida in October
1971. With that knowledge, he convinced his parents that Walt Disney World was
the place for the family's summer vacation in 1972. He's been studying it ever
since. Now, as a proud uncle, he vacations here with his brothers and sisters
and their children, and is such a frequent guest that on our visit, when Snow
White spotted him from her parade float at Disney-MGM Studios, she pointed to
him and mouthed "I remember you."
The fireworks dinner was only a prelude
to six full days of WDW According to Bruce. I came away with a depth of
knowledge, experience and appreciation that only veteran visitors can
claim.
I won't say you should be so lucky, because you already
are.
Just stick with Bruce, and you'll see.

TONI'S TAKE: The little girl in me, who never got to go to

"SpectroMagic" night parade, thrilled to the ghosts of The Haunted Mansion,
sailed on a magic ship in Peter Pan's Flight, wished for a sword in Pirates of

golden age of television at the 50's Prime Time Cafe; cringe from the dragon in
"Fantasmic!"; learn about Walt at "Walt Disney: One Man's Dream"; just sit

Neither of us rode it.
TONI'S TAKE: Finding The Vine Lady among the

and giraffes with Kilimanjaro Safaris was a happy jaunt. For varied reasons, I
also felt good about "Festival of the Lion King," counting the animals carved
into the Tree of Life; "Flights of Wonder"; "It's Tough to be a Bug!"; and the
colorfully-clad tribal musicians in Africa.

Boy boycotted
BROADWAY diva Liza Minnelli says she was used by the creators of the musical,
The Boy from Oz. Minnelli, who was married to Peter Allen for seven years and is
portrayed in the show along with her famous mother, Judy Garland, says she never
gave the musical her approval and her request to see the script was refused.
Minnelli was so disheartened she boycotted Hugh Jackman's Tony Award-winning
performance as
Allen during the show's successful 2003-04 run on New York's Broadway. "I don't
believe in supporting people who use you," she tells Larry King on his TV
talkshow, Larry King Live. When King asked her if she blames Jackman, Minnelli
replies: "Oh, God no. He's wonderful." Her comments come ahead of The Boy from
Oz's return to Australia in August, with Jackman reprising Allen's role.
Brisbane actor Angela Toohey will play Minnelli alongside Jackman and Chrissy
Amphlett will play Garland. The Boy From Oz, based on the life of Allen and
incorporating many of the flamboyant Australian entertainer's songs, was first
performed in Australia in 1998 with Todd McKenney playing Allen. Producer Ben
Gannon yesterday had no comment.

March 05, 2006 ESPN, the profit machine, comes to Orlando It's ESPN
the weekend right now at Disney-MGM Studios; so it makes sense that the Orlando
Sentinel has two stories that look into the affects EPSN is having on the sports
world and its fans. The division continues to make tons of money for the Walt
Disney Company since it acquired it in 1996 as part of the ABC/Capital Cities
deal that was Michael Eisner's biggest move during his reign as CEO. 10 years
later the deal finally appears to have been a solid one.
Current CEO Bob Iger also came along in that deal as an ABC executive.
Pirates Red-Carpet Event at Disneyland Confirmed Fans of Johnny Depp,
Keira Knightley, and Orlando Bloom get ready. The movie premiere for Pirates Of
The Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest will be at Disneyland on June 24th. This time
they're going to close the whole park at 5pm rather than deal with the crowd
control mess that the premier created last time. To compensate DCA is staying
open until 11:00pm and Disneyland will open at 6:30am that morning. Also be
prepared for closures in the New Orleans Square area the week before as they set
up for the event.
I'm fairly certain they'll do the red carpet walk early enough that regular fans
will be able to line up on one side of Main Street to see their favorite stars
as they did during the last premier. I also understand a limited number of
tickets to see the movie itself will be available. (Probably as contest prizes.)
But stay tuned for more details.
