Spider-Man busts through on Blu-ray on October 30
Sony is spinning quite a web around its release of the latest "Spidey"
film. In addition to a single-disc DVD version (with bonus features)
and a two-disc Special Edition DVD (with more bonus features), the
company is releasing "Spider-Man 3" in a two-disc Blu-ray set and, for
your HD pleasure, packaging all three Spidey outings in a "Spider-Man
High Definition Trilogy Set." In addition, a three-disc set of all
three Spidey films will be available on regular DVD.
The two-disc "Spider-Man 3 Blu-ray High-Def" and two-disc "Special
Edition DVD" offer fans more than six hours of all-new bonus materials,
including a trio of featurettes spotlighting the cinematic creation of
the web crawler's greatest nemeses. "Grains of Sand: Building Sandman"
details the challenges Sony Pictures Imageworks faced in creating the
iconic villain; "Re-Imagining the Goblin" explores the changes in the
New Goblin character from page to screen; and "Covered in Black:
Creating Venom" follows the cinematic creation of Spider-Man's
archrival. Other extras include features on the creation of the
spectacular stunts in the movie; bloopers; a Snow Patrol music video,
and two commentary tracks by the cast and filmmakers.
Pricing: DVD single disc: $28.97; two-disc DVD Special Edition: $36.95; DVD Trilogy: $38.96; Blu-ray two-disc set: $49.95; Blu-ray Trilogy: $98.95.
