Just Announced:
Due August 8 is first-time director Rian Johnson's dark comedy-thriller "Brick," starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Nora Zehetner, Lukas Haas, Noah Fleiss, Emilie de Ravin, Brian White, Meagan Good, Noah Segan, Matt O'Leary and Richard Roundtree, from Universal.
Animated family film "Curious George," with the voices of Will Ferrell, Frank Welker, Drew Barrymore, David Cross, Eugene Levy, Joan Plowright and Dick Van Dyke, swings to home video from Universal on September 26. Extras include a Jack Johnson "Upside Down" music video with sing-a-long; "Drawn to George" drawing lessons; "Monkey Around With Words" featurette; "Monkey in Motion" animation featurette; deleted scenes; bonus kids activities: "Virtual Coloring Book," "The Ever Changing Colorful Chameleon," "Where's George?" "Banana Hunt: Help Hungry George Find the Bananas"; DVD ROM downloadable coloring sheets.
The blockbuster hit "X-Men: The Last Stand," directed by Brett Ratner and starring Hugh Jackman, Halle Berry, Ian McKellen, Famke Janssen, Anna Paquin, Kelsey Grammer, Rebecca Romijn, James Marsden and Patrick Stewart, mutates onto DVD October 3 from Fox. Extras include commentaries by Ratner, the writers and producers; three alternate endings; deleted scenes; Easter Eggs.
On October 10 New Line will release Robert Altman's "A Prairie Home Companion," starring Woody Harrelson, Tommy Lee Jones, Garrison Keillor, Kevin Kline, Lindsay Lohan, Virginia Madsen, John C. Reilly, Maya Rudolph, Meryl Streep, Yolanda Johnson and Lily Tomlin.
On October 17 DreamWorks will release their animated hit "Over the Hedge," with the voices of Bruce Willis, Garry Shandling, Steve Carell, Wanda Sykes, William Shatner, Nick Nolte, Thomas Haden Church, Allison Janney, Eugene Levy, Catherine O'Hara and Avril Lavigne. The extensive extras include "Hammy's Boomerang Adventure," a four-minute mini-movie created by the filmmakers exclusively for this release; "Behind the Hedge" look at the real-life animals that inspired the film's critters; filmmaker commentaries; a Verm-Tech Institute "infomercial" spoofing the career opportunities of pest control; "making-of" documentary; cast interviews; "The Tech of Over the Hedge" featurette; "DreamWorks Kids: This Way to Play" kids fun with virtual drawing lesson, set-top games, animal fun facts, more; "Hibernating Content": Just like Vincent the Bear and the rest of the woodland creatures, more DVD content will come out of hibernation. On November 28th, home audiences can access a secret password from the "Over the Hedge" website (www.overthehedgemovie.com) to unlock more fun with all-new content.
