NOMINEES AND WINNERS CONGRATULATED OF THE 2000 OHIO INDEPENDENT FILM
FESTIVAL

Cleveland, Ohio-The Off-Hollywood Oscarz, worth almost $2,000, are
awarded to the four highest rated films presented during the
festival. And for the year 2000, the Off-Hollywood Oscarz go
to: "Waxing Gibbous" by Jim Fogarty for Best of Ohio,"Jimmy Ritz" by
Bill Flannigan for Best Short Film, "Vice" by John Woodward for Best
Feature Film, and "Girls' Room" by Irene Turner for Best Film By A
Woman.
Congratulations also to the other nominees. The Best of Ohio
nominees included "Worn Down" by Jaime Meyers, "Ordinary Madness" by
Michael Paukst, "The Blessing of Prometheus" by Christopher Young,
and "Going Down" by Carrie Inmon. The Best Short Film nominees
included "Lake" by Kurt T. Jones, "Pump Action" by Phil Captain 3D
McNally, the Academy Award-nominated "Seraglio" by Gail Lerner &
Colin Campbell, and "Five Wishes" by Stuart Alexander. The Best
Feature Film nominees included "North Beach" by Jed
Mortenson, "American Reel" by Mark Archer, "Conscience
and the Constitution" by Frank Abe, and "Poles Apart" by
Greg Stiever. The Best Film By A Woman nominees included
"Grrlyshow" by Kara Herold, "In the Refrigerator" by Leslie Ann Coles,
"Miss Twiggley's Tree" by Kelli Bixler, and "American
Odyssey" by Christina Monnier.
