Cleveland, Ohio-The Baltimore, Maryland Sun says the feature
documentary PARTNERS OF THE HEART "…is flat-out great." The
film premieres in Ohio 6p, Friday, November 7 at the 10 Year
Anniversary OIFF at Cleveland Public Theatre, 6415 Detroit Road.
Against the backdrop of segregation, a black apprentice with a genius
for surgery and a white surgeon who dared defy medical gospel forged
a partnership that changed the course of medical history. With only a
high school degree, Vivien Thomas became a cardiac pioneer and
teacher to generations of America's premiere heart surgeons at a
time when he himself could not become one. PARTNERS OF THE HEART is
his journey; a compelling, often-overlooked American story of
personal triumph.
