CONTROVERSIAL, AWARD-WINNING FILM TO PREMIERE IN OHIO 8P, NOVEMBER 4
AT THE OHIO INDEPENDENT FILM FESTIVAL

2003

For Immediate Release: November 3, 2003

Cleveland, Ohio-In honor of Election Day and Independent
Pictures' mission of freedom of expression, the feature
documentary UNPRECEDENTED: THE 2000 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION makes its
Ohio premiere at 8p, Tuesday, November 4 at the 10 Year Anniversary
OIFF at Cleveland Public Theatre, 6415 Detroit Road. Says Variety,
"…a powerful piece of agitprop filmmaking… [the film's]
only flaw is its brevity; the subject is so vast…"

UNPRECEDENTED is the riveting story about the battle for the
Presidency in Florida and the undermining of democracy in America.
Filmmakers Richard Ray Pérez and Joan Sekler examine modern
America's most controversial political contest: the election of
George W. Bush. What emerges is a disturbing picture of an election
marred by suspicious irregularities, electoral injustices, and
sinister voter purges in a state governed by the winning candidate's
brother. George W. Bush stole the presidency of the United
States… and got away with it. Film festivals around the country,
including San Francisco Independent, New Jersey International,
Crossroads, Winslow, Sacramento, Berkeley, and NY International, have
bestowed awards upon UNPRECEDENTED.
