Cleveland, Ohio-True to form for Independent Pictures' mission to
help filmmakers hone their craft, this year's Ohio Independent
Film Festival (November 1-9) includes a documentary workshop in
addition to its signature Director of Photography workshop and a
weeklong program of innovative shorts and feature-length films. The
Sugar Pictures Documentary Workshop will be held Saturday, November
1, 9:00 am-6:00 pm at the Gordon Square Arcade, 6516 Detroit Avenue
in Cleveland, Ohio.
Back by popular demand from the 2002 OIFF, the Sugar Pictures
Documentary Workshop not only provides insights on technique but also
clues participants into hard-won lessons on researching, producing,
fund-raising, and the marketing of non-fiction films from
professional filmmakers. During the class, students are invited to
ask questions pertaining to their own specific projects. Students
will receive a workbook including sample proposals, budgets,
contracts and case studies (if you can't attend the workshop, the
workbook is available for purchase as well).
