Cleveland, Ohio-The Ohio Independent Film Festival (OIFF) is honored
to have Patrick Markey, TC Rice, and Jai Khanna to judge the 2001
Ohio Independent Screenplay Awards (OISA). Mr. Markey is a major
motion picture producer in Hollywood; his credits include the
critically acclaimed "The Joy Luck Club," "The Horse Whisperer," "A
River Runs Through It," "The Quick and the Dead," "Deep Star Six,"
and "The Tie That Binds." Mr. Rice is VP Distribution for Manhattan
Pictures Intl., a new distribution and production company founded by
Paul Cohen. Manhattan is both producing and distributing films with

The OISA is among the oldest and most prestigious screenplay awards
program in the Midwest, with a focus on introducing writers to the
professionals who can jump-start real writing careers. Over the
years, winning screenplays have been optioned, produced into feature
films; additionally, winning writers are now well on their way to
professional writing careers. Prizes include $1,000 cash, a
screenplay reading at Script Mill-the OIFF's professional
screenplay reading program, a subscription to Scr(i)pt Magazine, and
representation and promotion by WritersScriptNetwork.com.

To qualify for our regular submission fee of $40/per screenplay,
submissions must be postmarked by May 15, 2001. Late submissions may
be postmarked until June 1, 2001; different fees apply. All awards
(including Script Mill) will be given out in November 2001 at the
Ohio Independent Film Festival & Market in Cleveland, Ohio. For more
detailed information, please call the OIFF at (216) 651-7315, email
us at OhioIndieFilmFest@..., or visit www.ohiofilms.com.
