Cleveland-Please join us for our 15th festival in eight years, the
2001 Ohio Independent Film Festival & Market, November 3-11. All
events are presented at Cleveland Public Theatre, 6415 Detroit Road,

details on after-festival parties Thursday, Friday and Saturday
nights. Some daily highlights include:
· Saturday, November 3, 10a-6p: Director of Photography
Workshop, our 2nd annual presentation of this wildly popular day,
sponsored by Media Design Imaging, Film Craft Labs, Kodak, AIVF,
OVRMAC and Stone Model Talent, at CSU, call (216) 623-0822 to
register.
· Monday, November 5, 6-9p: Windows on the River for Windows on
the World, a fundraiser to directly support some of the New Yorkers
hardest hit by the September 11 attacks, join us at the City View
Room at Windows on the River.
· Tuesday, November 6, 8p: Script Mill, a professional,
unstaged screenplay reading-one of the prizes of the Ohio Independent
Screenplay Awards, is modeled after the Nuyorican Poets Cafe's Fifth
Night Series in New York City, sponsored by Scr(i)pt Magazine,
WritersScriptNetwork.com, Writers Guild of America, East.
· Wednesday, November 7: Opening film "Overnight Sensation" at
7p (young writer learns life lessons at the Sundance Film Festival),
followed by "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang" at 9p (color, fashion, obsession,
and murder British-style).
· Thursday, November 8: Ohio Day, films all about Ohio all day
long, starting at 9a and ending with an "you'll only see it
here" screening of "Midnight Days" at 9p (a gothic romance shot
entirely on location at the infamous Franklin Castle).
· Friday, November 9: Short and feature films all day and all
night, 9a-8p. Highlights include "Game Day" at 3p (boys-pardon me-
men and baseball), where you'll see Howard Stern featured guest
Artie Lang strut his stuff, and the last film of the evening
accompanied by live music.
· Saturday, November 10, 9a: Day One of ARTISTIC CHALLENGES FOR
FILM ACTORS; AN INTERACTIVE WORKSHOP by Ellen Friedman, professional
actor, director, and coach for voice, dialect, and acting.
· Saturday, November 10, 1-8p: Short and feature films the rest
of the day and all night, a highlight is "G-Spots" at 3p (whimsical
dilemma of an errant Knight with Sandy Duncan in a role you'll
not soon forget).
· Sunday, November 11, 9a: Day Two of ARTISTIC CHALLENGES FOR
FILM ACTORS; AN INTERACTIVE WORKSHOP by Ellen Friedman, professional
actor, director, and coach for voice, dialect, and acting.
· Sunday, November 11, 1-9p: Short and feature films the rest
of the day and all night, ending with daring closing film "After
April" at 9p (revenge knocks young hipster from his precarious and
new-found stability in this Larry Clark-like pic).
· Also, for another aspect unique to our festival, enjoy a
video installation the entire festival week "Upgrade: Cyborg
Ascending a Staircase" (progress represented through technological
manipulation of the human form).
