Cleveland, Ohio (April, 2008) – Independent Pictures, an innovative
film organization in Ohio dedicated to freedom of expression through the
art of independent media, will hold a special benefit to support
Independent Pictures' Film Production Internship Program,
Friday, May 9, 2008. The benefit will include a special screening of
Independent Pictures'
Board Member and Cleveland independent filmmaker Todd Kwait's
documentary,
Chasin' Gus' Ghost. The event will begin at the Rock & Roll
Hall of Fame and Museum at 7:00 PM, immediately followed by a
reception at the newly renovated Park Lane Villa Ballroom in
Cleveland's University Circle. A part of Independent
Pictures' annual Ohio Independent Film Festival, held May 4, -
11, 2008, tickets for this one-time special event are $75.00.

Chasin' Gus' Ghost traces the roots of American music,
beginning in the 1920's with Gus Cannon and Cannon's Jug
Stompers and weaving its way through time to show the
influences on the 1960's folk and rock movements. The film includes
interviews and live
performances with many familiar faces of American music, all influenced
by the great jug
band musicians of our past. Five years in the making, Chasin'
Gus' Ghost was written and
directed by Clevelander Todd Kwait.
