November 6
-13. All events are presented at Cleveland Public Theatre, 6415 Detroit Road,

highlights

· Sunday, November 6, 9a-6p: 6th ANNUAL DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY (DP) WORKSHOP
AND AIVF SALON with Richard Walsh (Ireland) and Cleveland legend Robert C.
Banks, Jr. An
IP signature event, this wildly popular, hands-on workshop allows participants
to help DPs
light and shoot scenes on 16mm film, which is then screened the next weekend at
the
festival. Fee is $50, which includes lunch the day of the workshop and one
admission to
the festival the following weekend. Limited seating available, reservations must
be made
and paid for in advance, deadline November 3. Location is at the Hyacinth Lofts,
3030 East
63rd Street.
· Monday, November 7, 7p: Opening Night Feature Film, the Ohio premiere of MY
BIG FAT
INDEPENDENT MOVIE (A comedy from Film Threat's Chris Gore including spoofs of
some
of the indie film world's most renowned movies).
· Tuesday, November 8, 7p and 9p: at 7p, the Ohio premiere of feature film THE
PRINCE OF
JERSEY (two hard-living friends get involved in the high stakes world of
football gambling),
and a short film program at 9p.
· Wednesday, November 9, 5p, 7p and 9p: a special event at 5p ($20 admission)
with
Greater Cleveland Community Shares in celebration of 20 years of supporting
social justice
co-presented by Community Shares member Learning Disabilities Association, a
short film
program at 7p, and the Ohio premiere of feature documentary MISSIONARY POSITIONS
at
9p (After hearing God say the word "porn" to them, two young pastors are off on
a
quixotic crusade into the world of pornography).
· Thursday, November 10, 9a-8p: OHIO DAY, films written, directed, photographed,
and
starring Ohioans, starting at 9a and ending at 8p with a double feature: the
premieres of
science-fiction feature films CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE 4TH KIND: INFESTATION FROM
MARS and DISASTER SQUAD 2: DAWN OF ARMAGEDDON.
· Friday, November 11: noon-8p: Short and feature films all day and night, one
highlight at
2p is the World premiere of the feature film THE DISTANCE (in the spirit of
BUENA VISTA
SOCIAL CLUB, the documentary is about the world of champion boxers and the
people who
surround them).
· Saturday, November 12, noon-8p: Short and feature films all day and night,
one
highlight at 6p is the Ohio premiere of the feature film YELLOW LIGHT (Erstwhile
photographer searches for light for his camera and soul by immersing in the
stream of
life).
· Sunday, November 13, noon-8p: Short and feature films all day and night, one
highlight
at 2p is the Ohio premiere of the feature film MAY ALL YOUR DAYS BE… (This
documentary
is a tribute to the American circus and the individuals responsible for
perpetuating its
legacy).
