I thought this group was about Jim Jarmusch, not a place for people to sell

Imagine this...I haven't seen the film yet here in South Africa. Only being
reading tons of essays on the film. Should make interesting viewing when time

more like mystery train, dead man, down by law and the other great
films of him. I like his way of telling something really important
with a few words, with facial expression and of course music. He
does not simplificate the subject but he gets rid of the unnecesary
pleonasm and chooses a plain way to make the people get what he
really thinks and wants to say. In this sense he is a minimalist
person, i think. Also the soundtrack of his films are really
amazing, because they are full of tom waits', john lurie's, neil
young's beautiful songs..-of course there are many great different
bands and singers too- especially "dead man", is full of same guitar
riffs of neil young, but it did not bother me even for one second. I
thought how well the film and music can harmonize with each other. I
know that he directed a few videos of talking heads, tom waits, neil
young and jack white. He is a really great man with his personality,
his films, his style, his choice about choosing friends, his
ideology. By the way i am from turkey and i cant find so many people
to discuss about jim jarmusch , because they dont even know him.
Some of them have watched coffee and cigarettes without wondering
who the director is :) if you want to add or discuss anything about
him i will be pleased..

Saw the film opening night. Very different from any other Jarmusch
film (in a good way!). Some great performances from the female cast
members and an ending that lets everybody know this is a Jarmusch film.

Hi Guys,

My name is Ben Metcalf, i'm an MA Film Student in England and i'm

and Kevin Smith. Two opposite ends of the Internet fan spectrum.
Below are some questions and i'd greatly appreciate your answers.
All information will be treated confidentially and if you have any
queries please feel free to email me.
Many, many thanks in advance!!

Age:
Gender:

Profession:

1.How did you discover this site?
2.How often do you visit?
3.What do you enjoy about this site?
4.Which film do you think is his strongest and why?
5.Do you think Jarmusch is an `Auteur'? If so why?
6.How do you feel about the online involvement (or lack) from
Jarmusch himself?
7.Who presents the `official' or `legitimate' online content, in
your opinion?
8.Where do you get most of your information about Jarmusch from?

If anyone has any objections to me using there username in my
project could you please state them at the end of the questionnaire.
Once again, Thank You!!!

Recently, I've read really good interviews with Jim Jarmusch. Two of
the best in years. One is in the new issue of Stop Smiling magazine
(on your newstands now or you can order it online). The other you
can find here: http://www.erratamag.com/article/jarmusch-extras --
it's leftovers from an interview in Paste magazine which you can also
read online (it's linked).

WOW!! just saw coffee and cigarettes...its the first nite playing in
rochester..and it was better than i hoped for...its amazing how 18
years of film can come together so beautifully...only jim jarmusch
can pull something so incredible off!!! my favorite was definatly the
discussion between iggy pop and tom waits(of course with my strange
tom waits obsession..)....roberto binigni..just as fucking hilarious
as he was in down by law...anyways what im saying is that it was
AMAzing....not something you wanna miss....

Saw the film over the weekend. I remember Jarmusch saying in an
interview that his original intent was to have this film as a
video/dvd only release. I think Jarmusch had the right idea!
Although there were a few enjoyable moments (in the second half) the
first half seemed to go nowhere. The Tom Waits/Iggy Pop short in the
first half was the highlight and things really picked up with Jack
and Meg White and then from there on it kept getting better.

Murray & Jarmusch to Reteam on a Comedy Source: The Hollywood
Reporter Thursday, May 20, 2004

Bill Murray is set to star in a yet-to-be-titled Jim Jarmusch comedy
that will shoot in the summer, says The Hollywood Reporter. The film
will shoot in upstate New York and is expected to be in the $8
million-$10 million bracket, depending on final cast.

Murray appears in Jarmusch's latest movie Coffee and Cigarettes, in
which he discusses the pros and cons of caffeine and nicotine with
the Wu-Tang Clan rappers RZA and GZA. It recently opened in North
America.

Jarmusch has reportedly been chasing Murray for some time for this
role. The actor finally agreed to take the part if the picture could
be fast-tracked into production to fit his schedule. Other cast
members have yet to be locked down.
