Elephants Dream, world's first animated open movie (directed by yours
truly) is now part of the MoMA's "Design and the Elastic Mind" catalog.
You can view it on their website on this link:

Some background info:
Elephants Dream was premiered in Amsterdam (where it was made) in 2006-
it's an "open" movie project- in that:
we released the movie under a creative commons (CC BY) license
we released all the production files under the same license
we released (well, it already existed) the software used to make the
movie under the same license
So if you got the movie, you also got the right/ability to make your
own versions of it, remix, re-use, mashup, etc.
Our project was called "project orange", there are follow up projects:
"project peach" ( http://peach.blender.org ) and an open game project
( http://apricot.blender.org ).
I'm also working on another short, as yet unannounced (But will
be soon)
cheers, Bassam
