As I said below, I think when it closes it will close for good. Once the owner rents those spaces for other things, it won't ever be reconverted. Maybe other neat things will crop up but I don't see any way this can't be described as anything but a sad story.

Anyhow, I don't know if it was in the Gazette. Problem is the new owner, unless someone steps in and makes the theater happen, is sure to convert that space into some other kind of rentable space before too long, making prospects for a revival at Pleasant St much more unlikely than at the Academy.
