The Northampton Inde Film Fest is a terrific event. I would imagine that members of this group serve on its board, its committees and its administration.
I am hoping to see some important changes in the coming year to avoid empty seat syndrome:::
Tickets should be sold in the following categories:
Single admissions
Five admissions for $20.00
Ten admissions for $35.00
Last minute Rush tickets--sold at the door of the venue 10 minutes before screening time:
Student Rush price:::: $1.00
Senior Rush price::::: $2.50
Regular Rush::::::::::: $3.50
More involvement from the Five Colleges would be a great benefit::::
Each of the five colleges should have a screening of their own students films prefaced by faculty intros and post film discussion led by those same faculty.
Local bistros and eateries should offer discounts and perks to film festival ticket holders.
The film Fest has produced excellent printed programs in the past---these programs should be distributed and available two weeks before the start of the festival to stimulate interest and attendance.
Detailed info about the films, directors, screenwriters, etc., should be available on the Film Festival website.
Special events like the Gregorio/Ambrose multi-media film trailer that was part of last year's event should be encouraged and welcomed.
More post screening meet and greets at the local pubs/cafes should be encouraged and arranged.
Thanks for listening to my soap box diatribe.
