Happy New Year!!
The Noho Film Group domain name (movietalk.org) is coming up for renewal. One of our members donated the cost for last year, and I would like others to donate this time around if they are interested to keep the group going.
There hasn’t been too much group activity lately, though there are 110 people on the listserv, and many of these are new members. Please remember that anyone on the list can email the listserv to announce film related get-togethers, start discussion, etc.
My hope for the group is that people will get more involved, and eventually become a hub for film activity in the valley, connecting actors, writers, directors, producers etc. I am glad the ChopShop is posting to the listserv, the successful screenwriters group, and the forming documentary sub-group group are hopeful signs. The valley certainly has a lot of potential for a strong film community as proven by the Northampton Independent Film Festival and the Valleywood event held by Hidden-Tech http://www.hidden-tech.net/
I would like to have film events at my art gallery (Last Minute Gallery), including a newcomers party. I have attached a postcard of the gallery reopening. We can play movies in the middle space, and I would like to show independent films if I can find a financial sponsor.
Best,
