Hi Movie Fans!
I am excited to announce the launch of one of our sister sites.
iMovieFan.com is the name and the site was set up to offer our
visitors free web based e-mail accounts. Similiar to yahoo or
hotmail, but with a cooler name and at this point you dont have
to add a bunch numbers at the end of your username to open an
account. The site has been done for a few days now, but I held
off on launching it until I could tell you all about it. I wanted
you guy's to have the first opportunity to register before it was
open to the public. I'm not sure if I'm keen on the design, but
that is only cosmetic. Should I choose to change it, your email
account will not be affected.
be sure to head over to http://www.imoviefan.com right away,
while the getting is good and register yourname@...
email address. Did I mention it's completely free?
Quite a bit of news today, so let's get to it shall we?
-Bob
It's Showtime!

3. IN THE NEWS - Movies & Entertainment
=======================================================
'CLAUS 2' HITS THE BACK BURNER
Word had it that "The Santa Claus 2" movie would have a slight
delay in production. Now it seems Disney has put a halt to
production all together. Apparently this came to fruition because
the film's script was problematic. Producer, Brian Reilly had
this to say regarding the decision, "I think everyone has made
the right decision. What we need here is a script that's worthy
of being the sequel to the original, which is a movie we all
love. We want to get it right." Despite this Disney is still
intent on eventually making the film.
HIATT SONGS FOR 'COUNTRY BEARS'
John Hiatt has signed on to write at least 5 songs for Disney's
"The Country Bears" movie project. The feature is based on the
Country Bear Jamboree attraction at the Disney amusement parks.
Hiatt is also expected to provide the singing voice of one of the
film's main characters.
SINGER LIKES DEPP FOR 'DANGEROUS'
Word has it that helmer Bryan Singer is courting Johnny Depp to
come on board the "Confessions of a Dangerous Mind" project,
although it's been reported that no formal negotiations have
begun. "Dangerous" is Based on Chuck Barris' faux autobiography,
the film will tell the wild story of Gong Show creator Barris as
if he was also a hitman for the CIA.
GOSS' ROLE IN UPCOMING 'BLADE'
Luke Goss has a leading role in the up coming "Blade 2:
Bloodhunt" flick and what exactley his role will be has been
revealed. According to Goss' rep, David Wood, Goss will play the
part of a character named Nomak. Wood says, "He's the leading
villain...Blade's main adversary throughout the film and leader
of the Reapers."
'HALLOWEEN 8' NEWS
It's not a whole lot, but the official website reports that there
will be a "Halloween 8" in theaters in 2001. In addition the site
reports in an earlier update that "Jamie Lee Curtis is
contractually obliged to do at least a cameo, but not the entire
film."
SUPERMAN RE-RELEASE
Fans of the Superman movie series will be happy to know that
Warner Bros. has decided to bring back "Superman: The Movie" to
the big screen for a limited re-release in February before its
highly anticipated Special Edition DVD hits shelves in May.
Apparently the success of "The Exorcist" re-release last year
helped in the decision.
'T3' DELAYED?
According to Variety, producers of the "Terminator 3" project
haven't been able to get a completion bond on the picture because
they weren't sure they could complete the film on time. In
addition the trade notes a rumor that suggests that potential
financiers are wary of the project given Arnold Schwarzenegger's
recent lackluster box office on End of Days and The Sixth Day.
'SPIDER-MAN' PRESS CONFERENCE
Sony Pictures Entertainment invited dozens of journalists to
visit the "Spidey" set yesterday for a gala press conference with
the film's director and stars. Helmer Sam Raimi and actors Tobey
Maguire, Kirsten Dunst, Willem Dafoe and James Franco (along with
producers Ian Bryce and Laura Ziskin, FX wiz John Dykstra and
Marvel Comics honcho Avi Arad) were all on hand to answer
reporters' questions. One thing I found interesting, although not
surprising is that plans for a sequel are already in the works
with hints of the second installment to appear in this movie. To
get the low down on what took place at the conference visit..

NEW 'SW2' AND 'APES' PICS
Some new pics from the upcoming Star Wars: Episode II and Tim
Burton's "Planet of the Apes" remake have turned up online. To
view the 'SW2' pics visit..
http://cgi.theforce.net/theforce/tfn.cgi?action=getstory&storyID=
8898 and for the "Apes"..
http://www.ryanscott.com/steve/pota/attar.html. Note the links at
the top of the page. I must say something doesn't look quite
right with the "Apes" pics though. You be the judge.
'THE BIRDS' REMAKE?
Rumour has it that a remake of Alfred Hitchcock's classic tale of
birds gone mad is in development and that Melanie Griffith in
talks for the lead role . For those of you who didn't know, Tippi
Hendren, who played in the original is Melanie's mother.

27TH ANNUAL PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARDS
Julia Roberts and Mel Gibson won People's Choice Awards on Sunday
as favorite film actors, and John Goodman was named best
performer
in a new TV show, even though his low-rated sitcom was just
dumped.
Roberts, one of Hollywood's most bankable stars and a possible
Oscar contender for the blockbuster "Erin Brockovich," was picked
as favorite female motion picture actress. Gibson, another
perennial film fan favorite who starred in last year's
Revolutionary War drama "The Patriot" along with the comedy "What
Women Want," won the corresponding award for male motion picture
actor. Although at the time of writing this the winners were not
posted on the CBS website, but by the time you read this they may
very well be.

COURTNEY LOVE FILES STALKING LAWSUIT
Singer and actress Courtney Love has filed a lawsuit against the
ex-wife of her current boyfriend claiming the woman tried to run
her down in a car as part of "a mission to destroy her." Love,
the widow of Nirvana singer Kurt Cobain, alleged that Lesley
Barber has engaged in a 20-month campaign of stalking, harassment
and assault.
VANILLA ICE JAILED
Rapper Vanilla Ice spent the night in jail after being arrested
following a domestic dispute. According to police, Ice placed his
hand over his wife Laura's mouth ``to shut her up'' as the couple
drove on Interstate 595 in Davie. The rapper admitted ripping out
some of her hair, but said he did so to keep her from jumping out
of the truck's window, police said. His wife told police she
feared her husband and that the couple's children witnessed the
offense, police said. Prosecutors have 21 days to file charges in
the case, according to Davie Police Lt. Rick Smith.
KENNEDY MAGAZINE FOLDS
George, the magazine founded by the late JOHN F. KENNEDY JR.,
will close down after the March issue. The decision is due to
sagging advertising sales. The final installment of the politics
and lifestyle periodical will be a special tribute to JFK Jr.

"Futurama" animated series for one more season each. Also talks
have begun for another season of "The Simpsons" as well.
'PONDEROSA' ON PAX
Pax TV is bringing Ben Cartwright and his all-male clan back to
the small screen. Bud Paxson's family-friendly network is
developing "The Ponderosa," a prequel to the classic "Bonanza"
series, which still draws big crowds during the "Bonanza"
marathons on Pax.
