Hi Movie Fans!

We have some good trailers today for all you horror fans. Check
them out in the trailer & Teaser section. The "Crime and
Punishment" movie looks very interesting.

I was not able to get all the figures for the Top Box Office, but
I was able to get where they ranked in the charts. Hopefully
things will be back to normal for next Sunday.

I guess that's it. I hope your weekend was a good one and stay
tuned for Wednesday's edition where we will be reviewing "Meet
the Parents".

3. IN THE NEWS
=======================================================

FURLONG GAME FOR T3
Actor Edward Furlong recently revealed that he is in talks to
reprise his role as resistance leader John Connor in the second
Terminator sequel. "Right now, they're just kind of in the
process of putting it together," says the 22-year-old Furlong,
who's currently out making the promotional rounds for his
starring role in the Steve Buscemi-directed prison drama, Animal
Factory. "The script's great. I think it's going to be
happening." Arnold Schwarzenegger already is aboard, but
filmmaker James Cameron has said he has no desire to direct the
third installment.

GREASE 3
'NSync has signed on to star in a second sequel to the
Newton-John/Travolta 1978 musical. Lance Bass says the script is
currently being written with the studio giving the film a green
light, though shooting isn't expected to begin till the strike is
over.

HUDSON'S NEW ROLE
Hot on the heels of her breakout role in Almost Famous, Kate
Hudson has committed to star opposite Patriot hunk Heath Ledger
and American Beauty's Wes Bentley in a remake of the wartime
drama Four Feathers. Elizabeth director Shekhar Kapur will helm
this latest version of the half-dozen films based on the A.E.W.
Mason novel.

MIB2
Will Smith is sounding eager to get back in black all over again.
Smith recently said "The whole gang is back! Oh, and how they
bring Tommy's character back!... I can't let it out, but it's so
brilliant. It's great when a sequel can have a better script,
because it is so rare that the second film is better than the
first one. But this one is ridiculous!". Smith admits though the
upcoming strikes could potentially hold up progression on the
sequel, but seems confident about it and also hinted another ID4
adventure may be in the works - "We've been talking about it".

K-19
Liam Neeson is in talks to join Harrison Ford on the 'based on a
true story' Russian submarine drama "K-19: The Widowmaker".
Neeson would play First Officer Yenin to Ford's Captain Zateyev
as the pair fight to stop their sub's nuclear reactor from
overheating and exploding during the height of the Cold War.
Shooting begins in Russia, Iceland and Canada in February, and is
the first movie from National Geographic Films who have begun
work on a series of similar fact-based projects including the
Antarctic-adventure "Endurance" with "Perfect Storm" Director
Wolfgang Petersen who has Mel Gibson and Russell Crowe vying for
the lead.

MATRIX 2 CASTING
English actor Luke Goss "Nine Tenths" is apparently in
negotiation for the role of an Agent in the upcoming "The Matrix"
sequel.

GRINCH SOUNDTRACK
Mariah Carey, Will Jennings and James Horner have penned a new
Faith Hill song entitled "Where are you Christmas" which will go
on "The Grinch" soundtrack along with singles by Barenaked
Ladies, Smash Mouth, 'N Sync and Busta Rhymes.

NEW CUSACK FILM - WOO-HOO!
Steven Spielberg has offered the lead roles in a new romantic
comedy to a rather unusual duo - Julia Roberts and John Cusack.
Entitled "The Doctor and the Doorman", it features a female
cardiologist and a doorman with practically non-existent love
lives (she's career-minded, he's unlucky with women) that fall in
love. Spielberg says "They would play beautifully against each
other. They are looking at their schedules now".

CRUISE GOES TO WAR
Tom Cruise is set to play a rebel WW2 solider in his next flick
"Fertig" from "Gladiator" scribe William Nicholson. Of the
casting (and the plot), Nicholson says "I have reason to believe
Tom Cruise will be doing it and he would be fabulous. It is a
real hero's story about an extraordinary guy at the time of the
greatest military disaster in American history - the surrender of
80,000 American soldiers to the Japanese in the Philippines
during World War II. This soldier Fertig was the only one not to
surrender and instead went into the jungle. He gradually built a
kingdom and an army and fought his way back".

POTTER CASTING
Another of the children in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone
looks to have been cast. Young actor Tom Felton (Anna and the
King) has been cast in the role of Harry's enemy, Draco Malfoy.
In addition, Alan Rickman (Galaxy Quest) is now set for the role
of Snape as well as word that the Northampton Saints' English
rugby player Martin Bayfield has been brought in to double for
Robbie Coltrane as the giant Hagrid. Bayfield is said to be 6'10"
tall.

NIELSEN GETS PHOTO
Connie Nielsen (Gladiator) has joined Fox Searchlight's One Hour
Photo psychological thriller project. The film, which will be
directed by Mark Romanek from his own script, will tell the story
of a young suburban family who become the focus of an obsession
of a one-hour photo shop employee, played against type by Robin
Williams. Production is scheduled to start on October 30.

OLDMAN BOWS OUT OF APES
The Contender's Gary Oldman will not be taking part in the remake
of the sci-fi classic Planet of the Apes. "Sadly, they'll be
making the movie without me," he says on a recent edition of
Access Hollywood. "They don't want to pay anyone. They're cheap."

TRON 2.0
Yes, there is a sequel to Disney's Tron in the works. The
original film's director, Steven Lisberger, has been rumored to
have been working on the sequel called Tron 2.0. This week the
director confirmed something was up, saying, "It's been an
interesting experience for me, certainly, to go back to that film
after 20 years and really study it and see what it was about from
this perspective. I learned a lot about my own film. It's going
to be interesting on the next Tron to try to create some of the
sensuousness that the first film had in terms of the graphics,
but to do it in a digital way." In addition, scribe Richard
Jeffries (Silver Surfer, Neanderthal) is also working on the
film's script.

BIJOU CASTING
Martin Landau and Allen Garfield have joined Jim Carrey in Frank
Darabont's The Bijou project. The '50s era film Landau will take
on the role of the father of a soldier who was believed to be
dead. However; when a blacklisted writer (Carrey) gets amnesia
after an accident and wanders into a nearby town, the man
mistakes the writer for his lost son. Garfield will play the
role of the writer's literary agent. Production is scheduled to
start in February in Los Angeles and northern California.

COX JOINS BOURNE
Brian Cox (Affair of the Necklace, Rushmore) has signed on to
Universal's Bourne Identity project. Cox will take on the role of
the head of the CIA in the film which will tell the story of man
(Matt Damon) who washed ashore with bullet wounds and amnesia.
The man, who doesn't know if he's a good guy or bad guy, soon
finds himself the target of hunting assassins. The film, which
will be directed by Doug Liman (Go), is scheduled to start
production in January in Europe.

Radiohead's new CD, Kid A, has landed at the top of Billboard's

second, followed by Nelly's Country Grammar, the debut of Green
Day's fourth album, Warning, 98 Degrees' Revelation and Madonna's
Music. Also of note: Eminem falls out of the top 10 for the first
time in recent memory. Despite an appearance on Saturday Night
Live, the bad boy rapper's The Marshall Mathers LP slipped to No.

MEG RYAN BREAKS SILENCE
For the first time, Meg Ryan is speaking out about her split with
hubby Dennis Quaid. The When Harry Met Sally actress insists that
her failed marriage had nothing to do with her current romance
with Gladiator hunk Russell Crowe. "The reasons we broke up have
nothing to do with another person," Ryan tells the November issue
of W magazine. "My marriage was broken -- nobody else broke it
up. I know it to be true and Dennis knows it to be true."

SPRINGFIELD'S IN THE CLEAR
Ex-rocker and former General Hospital heartthrob Rick Springfield
will not be prosecuted for allegedly assaulting his wife, because
of insufficient evidence and his wife's reluctance to press
charges, the district attorney's office in Malibu, CA, told
reporters. Springfield, the man behind the 1980s hit single
"Jesse's Girl," made headlines last month when police were called
to his home and arrested him on suspicion of spousal abuse.

DR. LAURA MAKES NICE
Controversial talk show host Dr. Laura Schlessinger took out an

NBC REMAINS KING OF THURSDAY
NBC's Thursday-night lineup is still living up to its Must-See-TV
title. The season premieres of Friends, Will & Grace, Just Shoot
Me and ER steamrolled over the competition last night, silencing
pundits who suggested the revised slate was vulnerable. Will &
Grace's opening ratings were comparable to what Frasier averaged
when it premiered in the same slot last year, and the Will &
Grace/Just Shoot Me combo beat Who Wants to Be a Millionaire by a
whopping 40 percent.

GRACEFUL GUEST
Will & Grace Emmy Award winner Megan Mullally will guest star on
NBC's 3rd Rock From the Sun on Oct. 24 as Jane Curtin's wealthy
but hateful sister.

SAVINI ON SIMPSONS
Horror effects master Tom Savini will be providing his voice for
an upcoming episode of The Simpsons. Now, the official Savini
website is revealing that the actor-monstermaker will make his
animated debut on the best show on television when it hits the
small screen in January 2001. The episode is currently said to be
titled, "The Worst Episode Ever."

KINNEAR MAKES NEW FRIENDS
Nurse Betty star Greg Kinnear is in talks to star in the HBO
Films adaptation of Donald Margulies's Pulitzer Prize-winning
drama, Dinner With Friends, for director Norman Jewison (The
Hurricane). Dennis Quaid (Stranger Than the Wheel) is in line to
co-star with the former Talk Soup host.

LENO PREPS PILOT
Ed's executive producer, David Letterman, is not the only
late-night talk-show host to try his hand at producing a network
sitcom these days. CBS has ordered a pilot script for Jay Leno's
Foreign Motors, a half-hour comedy set at an Internet car
dealership. The show will feature a Latino lead character and is
targeted for the 2001-02 season.

MORE COVER
NBC has ordered 13 episodes of On the Cover, a pop-culture game
show that uses covers of magazines, books and CDs to quiz
contestants.

PEOPLE'S CHOICE
King of Queens star Kevin James will host the 27th annual
People's Choice Awards, airing Jan. 7 on CBS.

VERY ANIMATED CHAN
The WB has picked up 13 episodes of the animated kids' show
Jackie Chan Adventures for next season.

MORE INCORRECT
ABC has extended its contract with Politically Incorrect With
Bill Maher for two more years.

RETURN TO BUFFY
Juliet Landau makes her highly anticipated return to Buffy the
Vampire Slayer, as Spike's ex, Drusilla, on Nov. 14. That same
night, Landau will cross over to sister show, Angel.

BETTE LIFTS CBS
Final numbers are in, and Bette Midler's self-titled CBS sitcom
got off to a record-smashing start Wednesday night. The show's
premiere scored the network's best comedy ratings for the night
in more than five years. Although ABC's Who Wants to be a
Millionaire bested Bette in total viewers, the sitcom came out on
top in all key demos.

TITANIC SETS SAIL ON NBC
James Cameron's blockbuster Titanic will make its network
premiere on NBC during November sweeps. The film will air on Nov.
26, Thanksgiving weekend, from 7 pm-11 pm and will be broadcast
on HDTV format to four of NBC's owned-and-operated stations,
including Los Angeles, Washington DC, Philadelphia and Chicago.

7. MF MOVIE OF THE WEEK
=======================================================

Galaxy Quest (1999) (PG)

A satirical comedy that pokes fun at the influence
science-fiction shows like STAR TREK have had on their
audience. The cast members of the cult sci-fi television series
GALAXY QUEST now earn their livings appearing at conventions and
grand openings. When an alien race--the Thermians--arrives on
earth, it appears that they have mistakenly appropriated the
show's culture as their own, thinking the series was actual fact.
Desperate for help in battling the evil General Sarris, they
bring the actors with them into space to save their planet. A
surprisingly smart and funny send-up of the science-fiction
culture and the influence television has on the world at large,
GALAXY QUEST is a comedy that even non-genre fans can enjoy.
