Hi Movie Fans!

I was so busy telling you how to get rid of the banner on Sunday
that I forgot to give my best wishes to you all for a safe Labor
Day. My mom always said (still does) that I would forget my head if
it wasn't attached :-)

Don't forget the Emmy Awards on Sunday telecast on ABC.

According to Variety E.T.: The Extraterrestrial is returning to
movie theaters. The original film will hit theater screens in March
2002 coinciding with the film's 20th anniversary. The new print
will also feature never-before-seen footage as well as computer
generated enhancements. In addition, the film's soundtrack will be
digitally remixed.

IMPOSTER MAY BE DEPORTED
Jonathan Taylor Spielberg and Steven Spielberg have one thing in
common: a talent for fiction. That talent made Steven rich and
famous. It could get Jonathan Taylor deported. He allegedly duped a
Catholic high school into believing he was the nephew of the famous
filmmaker, and the Immigration and Naturalization Service is
seeking send him back to his native Iran. Spielberg, 27, legally
changed his name from Anoushirvan D. Fakhran in 1997. In the fall
of 1998 he enrolled at Paul VI Catholic High School, claiming that
he was 14 and that Steven Spielberg was his uncle. School officials
uncovered the scam in January, and Spielberg pleaded guilty to
forgery for submitting phony forms to the school. He was given two
years' probation. Federal agents took Spielberg into custody last
week. He faces deportation because his forgery conviction violates
his status as a permanent resident.

JERRY LEWIS RAISES 55 MILLION BIG ONES
Jerry Lewis, bounding back from health problems that sidelined him
for most of last year's Muscular Dystrophy Association telethon,
raised a record $54.6 million during this year's annual Labor Day
weekend event. The telethon broke last year's mark of $53.1 million
by $1.5 million, and the total could still climb because many local
television stations planned to extend their broadcast after the
national show ended. Lewis has vowed to conduct the telethon each
Labor Day until a cure is found for neuromuscular diseases.

CHRISTOPHER REEVE BREAKS LEG
Christopher Reeve, paralyzed since his horseback riding accident
five years ago, was rushed into emergency surgery after breaking
his left leg. He fell when a friend tried to help him from his
wheelchair. The 48-year-old actor was rushed to the UCLA Medical
Center in Los Angeles where he underwent a three hour operation to
repair a broken thigh bone. He then spent five days in the
intensive care unit, England's Sun newspaper reported.
"Christopher's bones are already very brittle because of his
condition," a hospital source said. "This is a setback. He's very
disappointed." Reeve, who has become an activist for spinal injury
research, has hoped to walk again by his 50th birthday.

HOPPER GETS OFF POT CHARGE
Actor Dennis Hopper, known for his portrayal of a drug-taking biker
in the film "Easy Rider," avoided any sentence Friday after
pleading guilty to a marijuana possession charge. Hopper was
arrested in October at Calgary's airport with less than half an
ounce of marijuana after flying from Los Angeles to make a film. A
drug-sniffing airport dog barked at Hopper's bags, and the actor
admitted he had marijuana.
Judge Doug McDonald cited Hopper's age, amount of marijuana
involved and the actor's cooperation with authorities in granting
the discharge.

HOME FOR SALE
Following a highly publicized breakup, Ellen DeGeneres and Anne
Heche have decided to sell their $2.75 million home. The pair
purchased the 4,000-square-foot, farmhouse-style structure in 1998.
It sits on 10 acres of property that includes working avocado and
citrus orchards in Ojai, a coastal community north of Los Angeles.
The two still own a Hollywood Hills home, which they bought for
$1.7 million in June 1999. Heche, 31, and DeGeneres, 42, announced
their breakup Aug. 19.

'GHOST RIDER'
Reports are that the live-action feature film based on Marvel
Comics' "Ghost Rider" has found a home at Dimension Films. The
producers at Crystal Sky are trying to lure Johnny Depp to star,
having already signed Stephen Norrington (Blade) to helm David
Goyer's script.

LOPEZ/COMBS SPLIT
Rumors are speculating that Jennifer Lopez and Sean "Puffy" Combs
have ended their romance. The rumors kicked into high gear when
Lopez failed to show up at Combs's Labor Day bash in the Hamptons
over the weekend, days after the New York Post reported that Combs
recently was spotted with a Latina beauty who was not Lopez. All
eyes are on Thursday's MTV Video Music Awards, in which Lopez is a
multiple nominee.

SCARY STUFF
Scary Spice's decision to enhance her bosom led to the collapse of
her marriage to dancer Jimmy Gulzar. In a recent interview Gulzar
said that his wife - also known as Mel B - had her breasts enlarged
three months after giving birth to their daughter, Phoenix Chi, a
procedure that prevented her from breastfeeding. "Mel knew I was
dead against it because it meant she would no longer be able to
breastfeed Phoenix," Gulzar said. "I felt Phoenix should come
first. I wanted her to be strong and healthy, and all the advice
was that breast milk is best." Feeling betrayed, Gulzar said he
refused to make love to the Spice Girl - leading to the beginning
of the end for the couple.

BACKSTREET HUBBY
Backstreet Boy Brian Littrell wed actress Leighanne Wallace in her
hometown of Atlanta on Saturday - just three months after his
bandmate and cousin Kevin Richardson tied the knot. For those
keeping track, the number of eligible Backstreet bachelors now
stands at three: Nick Carter, Howie Dorough and A.J. McLean.
Littrell met Wallace in 1997 during filming of the band's video "As
Long As You Love Me," in which she was an extra.

SURVIVOR COMMUNITY SERVICE
A prosecutor says "Survivor" star Kelly Wiglesworth might have to
do some community service to settle her 5-year-old credit-card
fraud case. An agreement is expected to be reached with her
attorney within the next month. Wiglesworth, 23, and a friend were
accused of going on a shopping spree with someone else's credit
card. Wiglesworth is wanted by Greensboro police on the 5-year-old
warrant. It's not clear whether she will have to appear in court.
Wiglesworth, a whitewater rafting guide, finished as the runner-up
to the $1 million prize on the CBS television show. She now lives
in California.

ROSIE'S BIG DEBUT
Rosie O'Donnell kicked off the fifth season of her talk show with a
Survivor-themed installment in which she presented losing castaways
Rudy, Sue, Colleen, Gervase and Gretchen each with a 2001 Pontiac
Aztek, the same vehicle awarded to $1 million winner Rich Hatch.
All six contestants were guests on the show. During the raucous
premiere, O'Donnell managed to coax Sue into apologizing to America
for her snake/rat tirade against Kelly.

MORE ROSIE
Rosie also revealed that she's going back under the knife today to
repair a ruptured tendon in her finger. O'Donnell initially injured
herself in an Aug. 4 mishap. Additionally, she said that after
adopting her fourth child this summer, "I'm finally finished."

REGIS LOOKS FOR NEXT KATHIE LEE
Regis Philbin unveiled a new set and updated graphics as the new
season of Live With Regis launched this morning with Dolly Parton
serving as guest co-host. As the search continues for a permanent
successor to Kathie Lee Gifford, Philbin announced a contest that
will give "real" people a chance to fill her shoes. Interested
candidates were asked to send in a videotape and letter explaining
why they're qualified for the job. The winners will strut their
stuff the week of Oct. 2.

BIG BRIBE
CBS is getting ready to send the prisoners of Big Brother a harsh
message: You're boring! In a desperate bid to inject some life into
the awful reality series - and subsequently undermine the show's
already weak concept - producers will offer one of the six
remaining contestants $10,000 to move out and be replaced by a more
"exciting" participant. The bribe will be offered on Wednesday's
live installment in the form of a briefcase filled with cash.
Houseguests reportedly will have two minutes to decide whether to
take the money and bolt. If someone bites, the replacement -
rumored to be a 22-year-old "attractive" Florida woman - will then
be brought in. Meanwhile, CBS has been smacked with a lawsuit
claiming Big Brother is a rip-off of George Orwell's classic novel
1984.

INDIA GOES MILLIONAIRE
It's hard for anyone in India these days to state a simple fact -
their name, address or the day of the week - without a friend
asking, "Are you sure?" That's the catch phrase of the newest
Indian TV hit: a Hindi-language version of the American quiz show
"Who Wants To Be a Millionaire." The show, hosted by the country's
all-time top movie star, Amitabh Bachchan, is India's most popular
TV program ever. Millions of Indians are hooked, dreaming of
winning the rupee equivalent of $219,000. The stock phrases used in
the show, "Who Will Become a Holder of 10 million?" - rupees, that
is - have become part of the culture. And in a typical local
reaction to the chance to win loads of money, Indian viewers are
trying to figure out who to bribe to get on the program.

5. MOVIE REVIEW
================================================

HIGHLANDER:ENDGAME - Christopher Lambert, Adrian Paul

Alright. I've been a massive fan of Highlander ever since Sean
Connery and Lambert starred in the original back in 1986.
Unfortunately, that was the last good Highlander film. I went into
the latest installment with pretty diminished hopes considering how
bad the last 2 films have been, so at least I wasn't crushed to
death when this one failed to deliver the goods. The main let down
for me was that there were too many fighting scenes that didn't
have anything to do with the storyline...they were just 'filler'
fights to get the movie to a decent length. Also, the climatic
ending could've been alot better and more to the point. I don't
know about anybody else, but I've seen enough movies to recognize
bad technical shots and this film is full of them...i.e. visible
booms, shadows of the crewmen, full shots of other camera guys. I
have one good thing to say...the filmmakers brought back several
original actors from the first film to fill in the missing details
between #1 and #4. That's it. Hopefully the movie series has died
it's final death. At least they were true to the tagline from the
first film...'There can be only one.' I think they meant, 'Be
prepared, there will be only one good film in this series.'

6. CELEBRITY PROFILE
==========
LINDA HAMILTON
================================================

Born: September 26 1961, Salisbury, Maryland, USA

Following high school Linda studied for two years at Washington
College in Chestertown, Maryland, before moving on to acting
studies in New York. In New York she attended acting workshops
given by Lee Strasberg. Her movie break came in 1984 when she was
cast in The Terminator. Even with that film's amazing success,
Linda didn't really gain a major fan following until she starred in
Beauty and the Beast on TV. Thanks to fansites, conventions, and
reruns, Linda became an international star. That star only burned
brighter when she reprised her role as Sarah Connor in Terminator
2: Judgment Day. Hamilton caught a little flack for a few scenes in
T2 because critics noticed that her body changed from rough to
feminine and back again. What they didn't know was that her
identical twin sister starred as the more lady-like Sarah. Linda
married James Cameron, who directed her in both Terminator films,
but she filed for divorce after she heard of his rumored affair
with a Titanic star.
