CAMERON WONT BE BACK FOR T3
Director James Cameron has terminated his discussions about
directing Terminator 3, the online magazine Inside said Tuesday.
The magazine quoted Cameron as saying, "I don't control the rights,
and to build value in someone else's franchise really doesn't make
sense. ... I'll build value in my own franchise, thank you very
much." Responding to Arnold Schwarzenegger's comment that his "big
wish" was to work with Cameron again on Terminator 3, Cameron
indicated that he may have at least part of his wish. He said that
he is currently developing True Lies 2, which could reunite him
with Schwarzenegger.

DIANA ROSS SILENCED
Diana Ross says the remainder of her much-hyped 23-city Supremes
tour has been canceled by the producers. "I promised our fans that
I would be there for them... and I will find a way to reconnect
with them as
soon as possible," she said in a statement. The short-lived tour
didn't sit well with some fans who were opposed to the exclusion of
founding members Mary Wilson and Cindy Birdsong.

DENNIS QUIAD FILES FOR DIVORCE
Actor Dennis Quaid, who two weeks ago announced a separation from
wife Meg Ryan, has filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable
differences, court papers showed on Wednesday.

BARRYMORE, GREEN GET ENGAGED
The 25-year-old actress, who played Cinderella in the movie "Ever
After," has officially become engaged to Tom Green ( Road Trip,
"The Tom Green Show") in the last 10 days, Barrymore's publicist
Eddie Michael's said Wednesday. Michael's could not confirm exactly
when Green proposed to Barrymore, but said no wedding date has been
set.

CELEBRITY PUPPETS - ONLINE SALE
Foam latex puppet heads from the television series Spitting Image
are being auctioned over the Internet by one of the program's
creators, Roger Law. The sale by Sotheby's auction house features
more than 200 puppets - a mixture of heads and full-body
likenesses - and 100 pencil sketches from the scathingly satirical
show. The British series, which ran from 1984-1998, mercilessly
skewered the famous and the pompous, from politicians and royalty
to sporting icons and showbiz celebrities. The sale runs until July
20.

WARREN IN TALKS FOR 'APES'
Newcomer Estella Warren is in final negotiations to join Mark
Wahlberg in director Tim Burton's "Planet of the Apes" remake for
20th Century Fox.

NEW REGENCY GRABS 'DAREDEVIL'
Arnon Milchan's New Regency Pictures has picked up Marvel
Enterprises' "Daredevil," a live-action feature based on the Marvel
comic book superhero.

VAN DAMME FINED
Action star Jean-Claude Van Damme was fined $1,200 and put on three
years probation after pleading no contest Monday to two
driving-related misdemeanors in a Los Angeles court. Van Damme was
not present in the courtroom as his lawyer entered no-contest pleas
to charges of drunken driving and driving without a license. The
actor must attend a 90-day alcohol education program and his
driving will be restricted to travel to and from work.

HARRY POTTER BREAKS RECORDS
Harry Potter provided some cash register magic for the nation's
bookstores over the weekend, many of which tallied record-breaking
sales thanks to the much-hyped release of the fourth book in the
children's series. Booksellers - big and small, on and off the
Web - reported Monday that crowds packed their stores continuously
since early Saturday, when "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire"
went on sale at 12:01 a.m. local time. Some chains even said that
they were running low on books and had already started talking with
U.S. Barnes and Noble had its biggest weekend in history, selling
502,000 of the new Harry Potter books as of the close of business
on Sunday night. That included about 100,000 through its Web site.

LIAM NEESON INJURED IN ACCIDENT
Actor Liam Neeson suffered a broken pelvis Tuesday when his
motorcycle collided with a deer near his home, authorities said.
Neeson, 48, was riding his 1989 Harley Davidson motorcycle around
noon when a deer jumped into the road, according to the Dutchess
County Sheriff's Office. Neeson, who was wearing his helmet, was
thrown from the motorcycle just before it ran into a tree about 70
miles north of New York City. The Oscar-nominated Irish actor
suffered a fractured right pelvis, a chipped left pelvis and
multiple leg abrasions. He was taken to a Connecticut hospital.
"I'm told that he's in good condition and that he's resting
comfortably," said Alan Nierob, Neeson's publicist.

LEBLANC'S WWII PIC
Friends star Matt LeBlanc is slated to star in All the Queen's Men,
a World War II comedy pic about a mismatched team of British
Special Forces agents led by an American. Filming begins in
Budapest and Vienna in August.

ROCK DOCUMENTARY ROLLS ALONG
A long-planned documentary of the 1970 Festival Express tour of
Canada featuring Janis Joplin, the Grateful Dead, The Band and
others is nearing completion. Producers are drawing from 85 hours
of onstage and backstage footage, which also includes clips of
Traffic, Eric Andersen, Mountain, 10 Years After, Sha Na Na and
several other acts.

DARVA'S ONLINE AUCTION
Former Multimillionaire bride Darva Conger is auctioning her
diamond wedding ring (3.37 carats) and brand new 2000 Isuzu Trooper
LS on web site BuyBidWin.com. Each is valued at $35,000 and
proceeds will be donated to Easter Seals and United Cerebral Palsy
Fund. The auctions run through July 15.

ELECTRA REVEALS RODMAN SECRETS
Carmen Electra says her pet name for ex-hubby Dennis Rodman is
"Little Choo-Choo" and that she likes to tease the former
basketball star mercilessly about his bad-boy behavior. "I have all
these little names for him," she says, "but he's mad because all
his friends found out and now they tease him. But he is so Little
Choo-Choo - he is! He is a little baby." Now that could be a Scary
Movie.

ESPN TO MAKE MOVIES
ESPN plans to develop original sports-themed movies, including a
Billy Crystal project based on the life of veteran sportscaster
Dick Schaap. Schaap currently hosts The Sports Reporters for the
cable network.

EMINEM'S WIFE IN REPORTED SUICIDE ATTEMPT
The wife of popular rapper Eminem attempted suicide Friday night at
the couple's home in suburban Detroit. Police would not release the
victim's name but Interscope Records spokesman Dennis Dennehy
confirmed to the paper it was 25-year-old Kim Mathers who was
transported to a hospital and later released. Meanwhile, Eminem is
scheduled to appear in court Tuesday for a preliminary hearing on
charges of carrying a concealed weapon and assault with a deadly
weapon.

NEW STAR WARS CAST MEMBER
Veteran actor Christopher Lee has now officially joined the
production of the second prequel as a "charismatic separatist" in
the space fantasy. Lee is finishing up his work in New Zealand
playing Saruman in the upcoming "Lord of the Rings" trilogy and
will soon hop on a plane to Australia to join Lucas and the gang on
the Sydney set of SW2.

BROOKE'S NEW TURN
Brooke Shields is set to play a lesbian involved in a child custody
battle in an upcoming Lifetime movie called What Makes a Family.
The telepic will be produced by
Barbra Streisand and co-star Whoopi Goldberg.

AFFLECK & DAMON IN HBO DEAL: Ben Affleck and Matt Damon are working
on a new project for HBO, Greenlight, in which an aspiring
filmmaker will receive about $1 million and the opportunity to
direct their first feature.
Development of the movie will be shown in a 13-episode, half-hour
reality series on HBO.

MORE HBO DEALS:
HBO is working with veteran producers Tom Fontana and Barry
Levinson on developing an original movie based on the 1995 book
Shot in the Heart. The autobiography tells the story of the
dysfunctional family life of author Mikal Gilmore and his older
brother, Gary Gilmore, who in 1977 became the first person executed
in the U.S. after a 10-year death-penalty hiatus.

ROCKWELL SLAMS EX-WIFE
Rick Rockwell says the late sideshow geek Elephant Man is more
appealing to him than Playboy-posing ex-wife Darva Conger. In a
tell-all interview, Rockwell says he had been warned against
choosing Conger as his wife by Who Wants to Marry a
Multimillionaire host Jay Thomas. "He came backstage when I had to
narrow it down to five
finalists and said, 'Anybody but the platinum blonde.' And I said,
'What?' He really wouldn't give me a definitive answer as to why he
was saying that."

FREAKS AND GEEKS LIVES ON
Freaks and Geeks, the critically acclaimed but low-rated series
canceled after just one season on NBC, will live on in reruns on
Fox Family Channel. The cable network has picked up all 18 episodes
of the teen drama, including three that never aired. Watch for its
Fox Family debut on Aug. 29.

3. MOVIE REVIEW - DVD
================================================

<Note from Bob> Ok I will get this right, hopefully this time
around. The following is from Laurie and I only posted part of it
last week.</End Note>

I forgot to mention Sunday that Universal/MCA has announced the DVD
release date for American Beauty as October 24th nationwide. Also,
if anyone wants to know when a title will be released for either
DVD or VHS formats let me know and I'll contact the studios through
work and find out for you.

Men In Black - Will Smith, Tommy Lee Jones
Columbia/Tristar is going all out for this film's release. The
studio announced three different versions of the film will be
released on September 5th. One version will be the usual type
release with 2 commentaries, documentaries featuring storyboards
and animation, Smith's music video, photo gallery, bios, DVDROM,
and standard, letterbox, and anamorphic formats.
The second version will be a Collector's Edition which will feature
everything in the first version, but it will also include DTS
sound. The third version is the kicker. This one is a two disc
set featuring everything in the first version plus alternate
angles, more photo galleries, another F/X documentary, and a
technical commentary. Unfortunately, the set comes in 5.1 sound
and not DTS, but it is still extremely sweet. The set also
includes some Easter Eggs that I'm not allowed to mention.

Jurassic Park - Sam Neill, Jeff Goldblum, Laura Dern
This too will have three versions released on October 10th. The
first one will have notes, a documentary, a dinosaur encyclopedia,
and trailers for Jurassic Park, The Lost World, and Jurassic Park
III. The second version will have all of the above plus DTS. The
third version will be a set of two discs which includes Jurassic
Park and The Lost World. The discs will feature documentaries,
storyboards, illustrations, photos, drawings, encyclopedia, and The
Lost World will have deleted scenes.

The Lost World will have a regular version and DTS version with the
same features as the first film, but it also includes deleted
scenes.

Born: October 8, 1943 - New York, New York, USA

Chevy began his career on Saturday Night Live and movies soon
followed. He's best known for the National Lampoon series and the
Fletch movies. Chevy prefers to do comedy and family films and has
turned such roles as the lead in 1999's American Beauty. Chase's
career has diminished somewhat until his recent hit Snow Day. I
read in an interview a few years back where Chevy said that he's
recognized more for the Paul Simon 'You Can Call Me Al' video than
any of his films. Lucky for all of us that his comic brilliance
has begun to be re-released in several DVDs including the 20th
Anniversary Edition of Caddyshack.
