Hi Movie Fans!

Finally we're back. Thanks to all of you who stuck around while
we got things back in order!

In the update I sent out recently I told you that I had been busy
updating the site. I just want to let you know some of the stuff
I've been working on and some stuff you can expect in the future.

FORUM
Yep that's right. Movie Fever now has a forum up at the website
for movie fans like yourself to get together and talk movies! I
still have some plans on sprucing it up, but I'm waiting for the
final release of the board software that I'm using. You all are
the first to hear about it. I haven't even linked to it on the
site. It's brand new and currently there are no posts. My hopes
are that all of you will take advantage of this, but that's
probably not being realistic. If just half of you register we
will be well on our way to starting the best movie related
community on the net! So, please if you want to get together with
our other readers and movie fans alike head on over to
http://www.movie-fever.com/forum
<A href=" http://www.movie-fever.com/forum ">Movie Fever
Forums</a>

NEWS
I added a new script that will allow me to add and archive news
on the website alot easier than in the past. Because of this I'm
hoping to add news almost daily. When I do start adding the
articles daily, there will be much more news on the site than
what I can put in each newsletter. So, if the newsletter does not
completely satisfy your movie news fix, visit
http://www.movie-fever.com regularly.

COMING SOON
I have plans for a few more additions to the website, but I don't
want to reveal any of the details right now. One project will
require alot of my time and I'm not really sure how soon it will
be completed. I'll be sure to keep you all updated!

I guess that's it for now. What it all comes down to is this. I
started the newsletter before the website was even a thought. I
used to only update the site a couple times a week, mainly with
what I had put in the newsletter the day before. I decided it's
time for a change and now those of you who visit the site
regularly can expect new additions and the stuff that's there now
will be updated much more often.

I hope you enjoy today's issue and don't forget about the forum!

'SIX MILLION DOLLAR MAN' IN DEVELOPMENT
Dimension Films and Universal Pictures are currently developing
Martin Caidin's 1972 novel "Cyborg," which was the basis for the
1970s TV series "The Six Million Dollar Man." Development first
began at Universal in 1995, when writer/director Kevin Smith
("Dogma") turned in a script. There are no writers' deals in
place, but it is possible that Smith could be involved. The
Universal-Dimension pact also includes rights to the three other
novels in Caidin's "Cyborg" series: "Operation Nuke," "High
Crystal" and "Cyborg IV."

UNIVERSAL TAKING ON 'BLACK LAGOON'
Universal Pictures is remaking a big-screen version of its 1954
feature "Creature From the Black Lagoon." Gary Ross' studio-based
Larger Than Life Prods. will produce. Ross' father Arthur A.
Ross, co-wrote the original feature, which followed a group of
scientists who capture the prehistoric Gill-Man while on a hunt
for fossils along the Amazon River. The creature gets loose and
kidnaps the fiancée of one of the scientists, with whom it has
fallen in love.

WARNER BROS. NABS 'T3'
Reports were that Paramount Pictures, Universal Pictures,
DreamWorks SKG and a combination of the Walt Disney Co. and
Dimension films were the front runners in the bidding war for
"Terminator 3: The Rise of the Machines." All studios were
willing to meet the basic asking price of a $50 million advance
against 50% of the gross receipts. But, it was Warner Bros. who
jumped in late and ended up coming home with the prize. WB
presented two arguments that worked in their favor. The first
being The success of "Harry Potter," and their ability to
leverage the full range of assets of the AOL Time Warner empire.
Secondly, the studios clout with exibitors would surely give "T3"
a firm grasp on theaters. WB plans to open "Matrix 2" on Memorial
Day of 2003, with "T3" to follow on July 4 weekend, next up would
be "Matrix 3" in November. The "Harry Potter" pictures are
tentatively planned for 2002 and 2004.

SALDANA BEATING TO THE 'DRUM'
Zoe Saldana, who co-stars with Britney Spears in the upcoming
film "Crossroads" will join Orlando Jones and Nick Cannon in the
Fox 2000 comedy "Drumline." Saldana will play the love interest
of a street drummer (Cannon) from Harlem who enrolls at a
Southern university on a scholarship. At first the he finds it
difficult to adjust to his new environment but winds up leading
the band to victory.

HANKS EYEING 'ROCKSTAR'
Tom Hanks is in negotiations with DreamWorks to star and produce
the "Comrade Rockstar," based on the life of the late rocker
Dean Reed. At a young age Reed moved to Hollywood and by the time
he was 20 he landed a recording contract with Capitol Records.
However, he never rose to the kind of fame in the United States
that he found in other countries, prompting him to move to South
America, where he became known as "the Red Elvis." His body was
found in an East Berlin lake in 1986; it's not known whether his
death was suicide or homicide.

SINGLETON ON VOYAGE WITH 'SINBAD'
Director John Singleton ("Shaft") has signed to helm the special
effects epic "Sinbad" for Columbia Pictures. Reports are that the
film will follow in the steps of "The Mummy" and "Crouching
Tiger, Hidden Dragon." "We look at 'Sinbad' as an eighth century
'Raiders of the Lost Ark' on steroids, and John is charged up to
do a big visual effects movie," said screenwriter Tedi Sarafian.
"After watching John's enthusiasm for the film and his strong
sense of the character of Sinbad, I feel that he's a lot like
where the Wachowski brothers were when they were known for the
movie 'Bound' and made 'The Matrix.'"

AGE RESTRICTIONS ON FILMS WITH SMOKING
If the anti-smoking group ASH (Action on Smoking and Health), has
it's way, films in which leading stars and role models for
children smoke would have age restrictions. The anti-smoking
group said such films should be classified for 15 years or older.
"We don't want to censor directors and actors by banning smoking
in films by law, but we think they need to recognize the impact
they have on their young fans and think about the harm they are
doing," John Connolly, the public affairs manager of ASH, said in
a statement.

De NIRO TOPS SILVER SCREEN POLL
Robert De Niro topped a poll of the 100 greatest film stars of
all time conducted by British movie channel FilmFour. Al Pacino
took home second, with Kevin Spacey third, Jack Nicholson fourth,
and Sean Connery rounding out the top five. Jodie Foster was the
highest ranking female, she ended up 23rd. Audrey Hepburn
followed in 25th place.

'X-MEN 2' SET FOR MAY 2, 2003
Twentieth Century Fox has officially announced the release date
for "X-Men 2." The film is set to hit theater screens on May 2,
2003. This will put the films release around the same time "The
Matrix Reloaded" comes out and ahead of "Terminator 3: The Rise
of the Machines," which is scheduled to roll out July 4. When
asked if the franchise would be expanded into a trilogy, director
Bryan Singer said, "Like any good comic book, you are always
looking to tell a complete story but also looking for expansion
and seeing into the future. With this universe you always have to
have an eye to the future."

TV. NBC along with four other broadcasters will start running ads

place to help make the ads more acceptable to groups such as
Alcoholics Anonymous and Mothers Against Drunk Driving. The
liquor distributor's will produce four months worth of
public-service announcements dealing with drinking smart, showing
alcohol-related consequences etc. After the four month period,
the company will have to devote one out of every five ads focused
on the themes mentioned above. Source: http://www.eonline.com

=======================================================

Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000) (PG)

Director Ron Howard casts comedian Jim Carrey in the title role
in this live-action adaptation of the famous Christmas tale by
Dr. Seuss, giving this rendition of How the Grinch Stole
Christmas a delightfully manic spin. Carrey is virtually
unrecognizable in his elaborate green makeup, but his anarchic
comic touch is unmistakable. He manages to fully embody the
grumpy title character, while still supplying his own comedic
touches, and it is his performance that makes the film a treat
for adults and children alike.

CAST:
Jim Carrey, Molly Shannon, Jeffrey Tambor, Christine Baranski,
Verne Troyer, Mindy Sterling, Bill Irwin, Clint Howard, Taylor
Momsen.
