Hi Movie Fans!

As I'm sure you know by now, actor Carroll O'Connor suffered a
heart attack and passed away on Thursday at the age of 76. I grew
up watching "All in the Family" and was shocked to hear the news
of his passing. I'm always sad to hear the passing of anyone, but
sometimes there are those actors and actress' that even though
you didn't know them personally you take a keen liking too. For
me Carroll O'Connor was one of those actors. He will be sadly
missed. God speed Archie!

Salami." "American Woman," which is the working title for the
film tells the story of an American and the emotionally troubled
addicted Oz rocker with whom she's become involved. After she's
sent back to the States, ostensibly to save her life after she
becomes a material witness to a murder, complications arise when
she discovers it's all a PR ploy meant to revive the band's
waning fame.

movie The Terminator in October. MGM Home Entertainment will

featurette, deleted scenes, a collection of trailers and a

ACTORS' CONTRACT DEADLINE LOOMS
the Screen Actors Guild and the American Federation of Television
& Radio Artists presented a revised, comprehensive package that
included more than a dozen changes in proposals, counterproposals
or withdrawals of previous proposals on Sunday. "We would say
that these are significant modifications of our previous
positions," said a union source close to the talks who added that
"significant progress" was made toward an agreement on Sunday.
Whether negotiators for the studios and networks would agree with
this characterization remains to be seen.

'TOMB RAIDER' SCRIBES TO PEN 'RED WORLD'
"Tomb Raider" scribes Patrick Massett and John Zinman have been
hired to rewrite the sci-fi thriller "Red World" for Jerry

Set in present-day Los Angeles and in the future, the visual
effects-driven picture centers on a man who travels back through
time to stop the ruling class of his world from colonizing the
past. The original script was penned by scribes Travis Wright and
John Glenn and scooped up by Bruckheimer's production company
last summer for a mid-six-figure advance.

'GREEK GIRLS' GUIDE TO WAR AND OTHER PASTIMES'
Producers Neal Moritz and Gina Matthews have reteamed to produce
the newly acquired comedy pitch "Greek Girls' Guide to War and
Other Pastimes," from scribes Mark Gibson and Phil Halperin.
According to Variety, The film centers on the comedic
misadventures of two rival sororities at a university, one
predominantly white, the other mainly black. An insider familiar
with the project said that it combines the competitive elements
of Universal's cheerleader flick "Bring It On" with comic
elements from the classic "National Lampoon's Animal House."

'AMERICA'S SWEETHEART' TEST AUDIENCE SPEAKS
Variety columnist Army Archerd reports that Over a recent
weekend, Julia Roberts, Catherine Zeta-Jones, John Cusack and
Billy Crystal reunited to shoot a new ending for the

decided they'd rather see a comedic wrap-up than a romantic one,
so a writer whipped up a new finale for director Joe Roth.

Reader Linda R. writes in regarding my fear of
lightening..expressed in the last issue.

Hey, Bob! Funny you should mention a fear of lightening. I just
heard tonight that more people die from accidents around
lightening than from any other weather-related cause. And they
said that the worst part of the year for lightening (and one
presumes deaths from lightening) is May through August. Keep your
head down!

Ohhh my...I feel so much better now Linda that the underside of
my bed is now equipped with an oxygen tank and first aid kit!
Seriously, thanks for heads up.

Reader Cheryl D. writes in..

Hi,

You have Bert Convy as turning 68 on June 23rd. There was no <D>
by his name, but he passed away due to cancer on July 15, 1991.
This is according to imdb.com (which is a GREAT site, by the
way!)

Oooops...We must have missed that. Thanks for setting the record
straight Cheryl!
