I WON THE LOTTO
A guy gets home, runs into his house, slams the door and says,
"Honey, pack your bags. I won the lottery!" The wife says, "Wow!
That's great! I'm so happy! Should I pack for the ocean, or
should I pack for the mountains?" he says, "I don't care. Just
get the hell out!"

-------------------------------------------------------------
Hi Movie Fans!
My apologies for the disappearing act. I felt horrible all last
week and just couldn't seem to kick it. I'm not one to run to the
doctor everytime I don't feel well (maybe I should be have, I
probably would have beaten my sickness quicker), so I'm still not
sure what was wrong with me. Anyhow, it's great to be back and
going!

=======================================================
WOODS REPLACES BRANDO IN 'SCARY'
James Woods has signed on to the "Scary Movie 2" project, taking
on the role that had previously been set for Marlon Brando. Woods
will now take on the role of a priest performing an exorcism in
the film's opening scene. E! Online's Anderson Jones reports that
the scene will also feature Natasha Lyonne as the possessed girl
and Andy Richter as another priest assisting Woods.
VAN DAMME 'THE MONK'
According to Variety, Jean-Claude Van Damme will star in the
independent kung-fu actioner "The Monk." The film centers on a
Shaolin monk who journeys to America in search of his father and
finds himself in a battle with an evil crime lord.
'HOSTAGE' FOR BRUCE WILLIS?
MGM has optioned the feature film rights to author Robert Crais'
upcoming novel "Hostage," with hopes that Bruce Willis will star.
The Novel to be published in August is about a former hostage
negotiator who finds himself back on the job when three
small-time crooks on the run from authorities hole up in an
affluent neighborhood, unwittingly taking a mob accountant
hostage.
BOYLE, '28 DAYS' HELMER
Variety reports that Danny Boyle (The Beach) is set to direct a
sci fi film called "28 Days Later." The film will tell a
near-future story set in post-apocalyptic London after mankind
has been nearly wiped out by a virus. The film will focus on a
small group that has survived.
'WONDER WOMAN' UPDATE
Well it looks like WWF superstar Chyna may not get her chance to
play the Amazon warrior princess. It seems Sandra Bullock is
still being considered for the role. While talking to Variety
columnist Michael Fleming, producer Leonard Goldberg spoke of the
project, saying, "Sandy's interested, and we've met with her. It
all depends on the script and director, of course, but she hasn't
done anything this physical in a long time, and she'd like to.
We'd love to have her."
'WEREWOLF BY NIGHT' IN DEVELOPMENT
According to Comics2Film (via Cinescape Online), Marvel Comics'
"Werewolf By Night" series is now in development as a feature
film. "Werewolf By Night" tells the story of a young man named
Jack Russell, who upon his eighteenth birthday discovers they he
is the latest in line to suffer from a family curse of
lycanthropy. The curse was placed years before via an evil book
called the Darkholme.
EDGAR ALLAN POE MURDER MYSTERY
According to Variety columnist Michael Fleming, (via Cinescape
Online) Edgar Allan Poe will be the focus of a new
mystery/whodunit featuring the author in the midst of a murder
mystery titled "Nevermore: The Nightmares of Edgar Allan Poe."
The film will tell the story of Poe, who is still grieving from
the death of his wife in Baltimore. Meanwhile, there's been a
series of murders that seem to have drawn their inspiration from
Poe's macabre stories...which serves to place the author highest
on a short list of suspects. Making matters worse is that due to
his state of mind, Poe isn't sure he isn't the killer.
ROACH TALKING SEQUELS
Director Jay Roach recently talked with E! Online's Anderson
Jones about his developing sequels to "Austin Powers 2" and "Meet
the Parents." Roach revealed that he will work on "Austin Powers
3" with Mike Myers before the Parents follow-up, "Meet the
Fockers." Roach added that contrary to reports, Heather Graham
may not be eliminated from Austin Powers 3, à la Liz Hurley in
The Spy Who Shagged Me. "We did that on the second one, but I'm
not sure we're going to do the same thing--that's always
formative." Regarding "Meet the Fockers," Roach reveals, "We're
working on the story. We have lots of good ideas, but it might be
a little while before we get to it. We just like the idea of
Robert being confronted by Ben Stiller's parents and having them
be as different as they can be. And maybe Robert's a little more
off-balance. But we still want Ben to be struggling to keep it
all together."
HILL WILL DIRECT 'TALES'
Writer-producer Debra Hill will make her feature directorial
debut with New Line Cinema's supernatural love story "Tales Not
Told." The project will tell the story of a young woman who falls
deeply and passionately in love with a man who is cursed. The
woman must risk her life in a fight against a supernatural
obstacle in order to prove to it the depth of the couple's love.
Hill has produced such features as "The Fisher King," "Crazy in
Alabama," "Adventures in Baby-sitting," "Escape From New York"
and "Big-Top Pee-wee." She also co-wrote "Halloween," "Halloween
II," "The Fog" and "Escape From L.A.," all of which she also
produced. Hill has directed episodes of the television shows
"Dream On" and "Monsters."
'HALLOWEEN 8' CASTING
The official "Halloween' site reports that rapper Busta Rhymes
and Sean Patrick Thomas (Save the Last Dance, Dracula 2000) have
signed on to the upcoming film. In addition, the site reports
that although Tyra Banks isn't signed at this time she is
expected to be part of the cast. Meanwhile, Variety reports that
Thomas Ian Nicolas (American Pie) is in final negotiations to
jump on board the project.
'THE SANTA' SCRIBES
Variety reports that the Walt Disney Co. has selected two writers
for their still developing sequel to The Santa Claus. Cinco Paul
and Ken Daurio have been tapped to write the script for the film
which will star Tim Allen.
FOX GRABS 'SOME KIND OF BLUE'
Fox 2000 has optioned the love story pitch "Some Kind of Blue,"
which will star R&B singer-actress Aaliyah. "Blue" centers on a
young man who falls in love with his jazz idol's daughter
(Aaliyah) during the 1958 Newport Jazz Festival.

EDDIE VAN HALEN CONFIRMS CANCER
Rock guitarist Eddie Van Halen has confirmed he is battling
cancer. In a statement posted on Thursday on the group's Web site
(http://www.van-halen.com), the musician broke his silence on the
matter, ending a year of speculation about his health. "I was
examined by three oncologists and three head & neck surgeons at
Cedars Sinai just before spring break and I was told that I'm
healthier than ever and beating cancer," Van Halen said.
"Although it's hard to say when, there's a good chance I will be
cancer free in the near future. I just want to thank all of you
for your concern and support." There was no mention where the
cancer was located, but unconfirmed reports have mentioned his
tongue. {Get well soon Eddie!}
FORD RECONCILES WITH WIFE
People magazine reports that Harrison Ford quietly reconciled
with his wife two months ago, after the couple announced their
separation last November after 17 years of marriage. "They're
definitely back together," an unnamed "source close to Ford" told
the magazine. "He seems happier."
MISS UNIVERSE SCANDAL
There are reports flying that this years Miss Universe contestant
from France is really a guy. E! Online reports that Elodie
Gossuin, a 20-year-old nursing student from Picardie, France, has
arrived in Puerto Rico (the site of this year's competition)
embroiled in a potentially embarrassing scandal for France and
the pageant itself. The brouhaha began in January, when the
French Internet news site L'Examineur claimed that Gossuin was
really a 27-year-old transvestite cabaret dancer called Nicolas
Levanneur. The story picked up steam when Puerto Rican papers and
the New York Daily News began questioning Gossuin's gender. It
seems those rumors might have been put to rest. Miss Universe
organizers called in a doctor to give Gossuin a presumably
thorough once-over and she also provided a birth certificate that
said she was a girl. {This is pretty sad really. If she is indeed
a female the folks who started this whole mess should be ashamed
of themselves. here's a couple pics if your interested..

BERRY, HUSBAND SUE TABLOID
Actress Halle Berry and her musician husband, Eric Benet, have
sued the Star tabloid for libel for describing their marriage as
"on the rocks." The couple, who wed in January, also accused the
tabloid of invasion of privacy and infliction of emotional
distress in the lawsuit filed in Superior Court on Wednesday. It
seeks $5 million in damages.

CBS GETS 'SHAFTED'
Variety reports that CBS has picked up the quiz show pilot
"Shafted." The show described as a cross between "Weakest Link,"
"The Price is Right" and "Greed" follows a group of contestants
as they attempt to make it to the final round, where the two
remaining players must decide whether they want to share the
winning loot or if they want it all to themselves. Those two
finalists will be asked, separately, whether they want to "shaft"
or "share." If both players say "share," they split the money. If
they both say "shaft," they go home empty-handed. But if one says
"shaft" and one says "share," then the "shafter" wins it all.
BAKULA GETS 'LATE BOOMERS'
Former "Quantum Leap" star Scott Bakula has agreed to replace
Burt Reynolds as the lead on the troubled CBS comedy pilot "Late
Boomers," according to Variety. Bakula will play Teddy Barnett, a
former NFL quarterback who now owns a Chicago bar; Markie Post
plays his ex-wife, while Adam Arkin plays his friend and personal
physician. Production begins Friday.
'ALL SOULS' NO MORE
UPN has canceled its supernatural medical drama "All Souls"
after two episodes.
'EMERIL' CASTING
Michael Jeter (Evening Shade, Jurassic Park III) and Lisa Ann
Walter (Life's Work) have joined chef Emeril Lagasse in the
NBC sitcom pilot "Emeril."
