HOW ABOUT A 'RAMBO 4'? NOPE SAYS STALLONE
While talking to Cinescape Online's Cin City columnist Cindy
Pearlman, Sylvester Stallone gave his opinion on the chances of
there being another Rambo flick, saying, "I am not doing another
Rambo. I don't know if I'd look that good in a thong anymore."
Sly adds, "In my fantasies, I'd love to do one more, but I don't
think it would be in good taste at this age."

MARLON BRANDO IN 'SCARY 2' ROLE?
Producers of "Scary Movie" one of the biggest hits last summer
said on Tuesday that Marlon Brando had agreed to appear in the
sequel "Scary Movie 2", which they are touting as the 77-year-old
actor's first "flat-out comic role." A spokesman for Brando said
he could not confirm the deal, however Dimension Films
co-chairman Bob Weinstein said in a statement "In an
unprecedented move, Dimension Films has landed movie icon Marlon
Brando in a wild, comedic turn." Weinstein added that Brando
agreed to the part, described only as that of a priest who
performs a "supernatural exorcism."

'I'M WITH LUCY' CASTING
Gael Garcia Bernal ("Amores Perros") is in negotiations and David
Boreanaz of the WB series "Angel" is set to join Monica Potter,
Anthony LaPaglia and Henry Thomas in the romantic comedy "I'm
With Lucy." The film tells the story of a terminally single woman
(Potter), just dumped by a man she thought was perfect for her,
who goes on a series of blind dates looking for Mr. Right.

'PEE WEE' UPDATE
While talking to Entertainment Weekly, Paul Reubens shed some new
light on the developing Pee Wee Herman projects. When asked why
one of the projects would be focused towards adults, while the
other would be geared towards kids Reubens replied, "I've been
away from him for a long time now. I'm doing two back to back,
and I'm not supposed to call one of them the adult Pee-wee or the
dark Pee-wee movie anymore, since that's sort of backfired and
people are afraid of it. But the so called dark movie has a lot
of ''Valley of the Dolls'' to it, and the one for kids is
completely crazy. It starts and ends in the Playhouse, and in
between it's all make believe land, a big adventure story. I'm
about a quarter of the way through that script." He added, When I
started writing the ''adult'' one, everyone said to me, ''You're
writing a Pee-wee movie and kids aren't going to be able to come
to it?'' I decided they were right and started writing a kids'
movie also. I don't know which one will be made first, though.
I've been in discussions with all the major studios, so we'll see
who's most interested. When asked whether there would be any
returning characters Reuben replied, I've written more than a
little part for Laurence Fishburne, but I haven't had a
conversation about it with him because I want to give him the
completed script. I want him to see what a great part it is, then
talk to his kids and let them guilt trip him into it.

BROSNAN IN "DEFIANCE'
Pierce Brosnan has inked a deal to produce and star in
"Defiance," described as an action-adventure film in which he
will play the leader of a renegade band of soldiers battling a
totalitarian government.

COSTNER JOINS CASTRO FOR 'THIRTEEN DAYS'
Get this -- Reuters reports that Kevin Costner and Fidel Castro
chatted into the early hours on Tuesday after watching "Thirteen
Days" and discussing over dinner the U.S. star's cinema version
and the Cuban president's real-life role in the 1962 Cuban
missile crisis. How uncomfortable could that have been? In
"Thirteen Days," Costner plays an adviser to former U.S.
President John F. Kennedy at the time of the standoff between
Washington and Moscow over Soviet warheads in Cuba. The incident
is considered by many to be the closest the world has come to
nuclear war. The crisis ended when Moscow agreed to withdraw the
missiles from Cuba, to the annoyance of Castro who resented the
deal being cut over his head.

SARANDON, PIERCE EYEING 'ENCHANTED'
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Susan Sarandon and David
Hyde Pierce ("Frasier") are in negotiations to star in the Walt
Disney Co.'s live-action/animated feature "Enchanted." The film
is a fairy tale about a young woman who falls in love with a
prince and is banished to the real world of New York by an evil
queen (Sarandon). Once there, she is followed by the prince and
queen and must decide whether to return home. Pierce, would
portray Nathaniel, the queen's valet.

COOK TAKING ON 'INVISIBLE GIRL'
Rachael Leigh Cook is set to star in and co-executive produce the
indie comedy/love story feature "Invisible Girl," which will
begin shooting May 8 in Los Angeles, according to the Hollywood
Reporter. The film is about a young woman (Cook) whom no one ever
notices until she uses herself as bait to capture a serial
killer.

BLOCKBUSTER ENTERTAINMENT AWARDS
Oscar winners, , Russell Crowe and Julia Roberts claimed top
acting honors at the Blockbuster Entertainment Awards. Roberts
won favorite dramatic actress on Tuesday for "Erin Brockovich"
and Crowe claimed favorite dramatic actor for "Gladiator." Jim
Carrey won the comedic actor award for "Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch
Stole Christmas," and Sandra Bullock was recognized in the
women's category for "Miss Congeniality." You can check out the
rest of the winners at..

LOPEZ, De NIRO 'LOVE ME'
Jennifer Lopez and Robert De Niro are in negotiations to star in
and produce for Warner Bros. a remake of the 1955 Doris Day-James
Cagney musical romance "Love Me or Leave Me." According to the
Hollywood Reporter, The updated version will be a romantic story
and love triangle set in the musical world and will not be based,
as was the original film, on the true story of 1930s torch singer
Ruth Etting.

'TUCK' CASTING
Jonathan Jackson is the latest addition to Disney's "Tuck
Everlasting" project. The film also stars Sissy Spacek, William
Hurt, Ben Kingsley and Alexis Bledel. There's no word on what
role Jackson will play in the film, which tells the story of a
family who have a secret spring on their property that is a
fountain of youth.

WARNER BROS. GETS 'CROSS CHECK'
Variety reports that Warner Bros. has bought the rights to "Cross
Check," a detective drama pitched by writer Gary Scott Thompson
that will be developed as a starring vehicle for Bruce Willis.
Meanwhile, Thompson is now writing "Time Cop 2" for Universal, as
well as "88 Minutes," a drama set at Disney and Willis is
shooting "Hart's War" for MGM, and then is expected to star in
"Man of War," a drama about a rescue mission by a special
operations unit in Africa.

GREENLIGHT FOR 'AMERICAN PSYCHO II'
Lions Gate Prods. has given the greenlight to "American Psycho
II," a sequel to the controversial thriller "American Psycho"
that starred Christian Bale. Actress Mila Kunis ("That '70s
Show") is set to star in the film. According to Variety, Unlike
the original, in which the titular psychotic was Wall Street
yuppie Patrick Bateman (Bale), the sequel will feature a young
co-ed (Kunis) as the rampaging killer.
The picture takes place on a present-day college campus, with
Kunis as a sexy college freshman and deranged Bateman survivor.
Having formed a darkly comedic obsession to be a certain
professor's teaching assistant, Kunis' character does away with
anything that gets in her way.

BUSCEMI, VAUGHN INVOLVED IN BAR BRAWL
E! Online reports that Steve Buscemi was stabbed Thursday morning
after he and Vince Vaughn were involved in a Wilmington, North
Carolina, bar brawl. Apparently the two joined screenwriter Scott
Rosenberg at the Firebelly Lounge in downtown Wilmington, where
they were on location shooting John Travolta's new film,
"Domestic Disturbance." Wilmington police say the fight broke out
around 2:30 a.m., after witnesses reported that Wilmington
resident Timothy Fogerty, 21, was making comments about wanting
to slice someone. "From what witnesses say, he provoked [the
fight] at the club," says Officer Crystal Williamson. "And as
they left, he provoked it again." Fogerty was arrested and
charged Thursday with assault with a deadly weapon after he
allegedly stabbed Buscemi several times in the head, throat and
arm. Vaughn, the 31-year-old star of Swingers and The Cell, and
Rosenberg (whose credits include Gone in 60 Seconds, Con-Air and
the new Spider-Man film) were arrested and held on $600 bail.
North Carolina's WECT-TV reports that Buscemi was taken to New
Hanover Regional Hospital in critical condition. He was
reportedly discharged Thursday afternoon and flew back to New
York. Sources on the set of "Domestic Disturbance" told E! News
Daily that Buscemi's injuries were minor and he's expected back
on the set Monday.

Ripley's exhibit of Monroe artifacts, including more than 40 of
her personal items, that will open at the museum's Hollywood
Boulevard home and later tour around the world.

ELTON JOHN LOSES COURT BATTLE
Pop superstar Elton John lost a multimillion dollar court battle
Wednesday against his former accountants and manager. John had
sued PriceWaterhouseCoopers and Andrew Haydon, former managing
director of John Reid Enterprises in London's High Court for
negligence while it was managing his affairs. The case claimed
Haydon was negligent in allowing the firm to bill him for
overseas touring expenses that he said should have been paid by
the firm.

EMINEM GETS TWO YEAR RAP
Eminem was sentenced to two years probation on Tuesday for
carrying a concealed weapon during a brawl outside a Detroit-area
nightclub last summer. The rapper was facing five years in the
big house, but prosecutors recommended a sentence of only 120 to
180 days since he had no prior convictions. Lucky for Eminem
Macomb County Circuit Court Judge Antonio Viviano opted instead
to sentence the 28-year-old rapper to two years' probation,
warning him that he could face up to five years in prison for any
violation of the terms of the sentence.

headed to court courtesy of CBS. In a lawsuit filed late on
Monday in Los Angeles, CBS accused Fox Broadcasting Co.'s "Boot
Camp" of ripping off numerous elements from the smash CBS

{All I got to say is save the drama for your mama and push!}

possible 2002 launch on Lifetime cable network. The project is
being described as a quirky romantic comedy that tracks a couple
from their engagement through married life.

5. MOVIE REVIEW(s)
================================================

Along Came a Spider (Rated R)
Starring: Morgan Freeman, Monica Potter, Michael Wincott,
Penelope Ann Miller, Michael Moriarty.
Release Date: April 6, 2001

Review by Susan Granger
SSG Syndicate
http://www.susangranger.com

Morgan Freeman is back as savvy Washington D.C. police detective
Alex Cross in this psychological suspense thriller adapted from
James Patterson's novel, actually a prequel to "Kiss the Girls."
The story begins as Cross retreats into retirement after the
death of his partner but catapults into action when Megan Rose
(Mika Boorem), the 12 year-old daughter of a Senator, is
kidnapped from her posh private school, right under the nose of
Jezzie Flannigan (Monica Potter), the Secret Service agent in
charge of security. As Cross is watching the news on TV, his
phone rings and the electronically altered voice of Gary Soneji,
the kidnapper (Michael Wincott), tells him to look in his
mailbox. There sits the girl's shoe. It seems this psychopath
wants to copy the Charles Lindbergh baby kidnapping, committing
another "crime of the century." So, while the Feds don't
appreciate his involvement, Cross has credible expertise they
don't have - like using tiny details to profile Soneji as "a
spider." So does disgraced Jezzie Flannigan, who's distraught
that she "dropped the ball." So it's their job not only to find
Soneji but to rescue Megan Rose.

Marc Moss's well-constructed script actually improves on the
novel, adding unexpected twists and turns, involving
double-crosses, deception and duplicity. And director Lee
Tamahori keeps the pace fast and the tension taut, staging an
intricate race through the streets of Washington, D.C.,
culminating in a convoluted ransom drop. There are several
problems involving logic, not the least being that the Secret
Service does not protect children of Senators, but on the Granger
Movie Gauge of 1 to 10, "Along Came a Spider" is slick, solid,
escapist 8. It's great to see an actor as classy and good as
Morgan Freeman propelling a franchise like this.

he appeared in an off-Broadway production of "The Niggerlovers"
his 1968 Broadway debut, in an all-black version of "Hello Dolly"
that Starred Pearl Bailey and Cab Calloway, was a bit unusual.

In the early seventies, he became widely known for his role as
Easy Reader on PBS's educational television program, The Electric
