'PETER PAN II' HEADED FOR THEATERS
Disney's original plan for the "Peter Pan" sequel was to go
straight to video. According to Variety, Disney is so pleased
with how the sequel is coming out that they have decided to
release the film to theaters. The project is said to be 95%
complete and Disney is hopeful of a spring 2002 release.

NEXT 'GODZILLA' OFFICIAL
According to Fandom.com's Monster Zero, Toho has officially
announced the next "Godzilla" film. Titled "Godzilla-Mothra-King
Ghidorah : Daikaiju Sogougeki," the film will feature not only
Gozilla, but Mothra, King Ghidorah and Baragon as well. To read

DEATH ON 'SPIDER-MAN' SET
Tragedy struck the set of "Spider-Man" Tuesday when a member of
the film crew died in a morning mishap. Reports are that Tim
Holcombe a 45 year-old welder was killed during construction of a
New York City building facade. Apparently, a crane hauling a
large metal cage suddenly toppled over on its side, according to
a spokesman for the Downey Fire Department. The sign was meant to
be placed atop the facade, which stood 20 feet above the ground.
The falling crane smashed into a platform on which two welders
were working. The swinging cage struck one of the two men in the
head, killing him. The other welder escaped injury. Construction
on the set was ceased immediately with the set closed, possibly
for the next few days.
Our condolences to to Mr. Holcombe's family and friends.

MORE 'SPIDER-MAN' -- WEBSITE LAUNCH
The officlai website for the "Spider-Man" film has been launched.
Currently the site is only host to a logo and email sign-up form
to be notified when the site is fully functional.

CHRISTENSEN EYES 'BANGER SISTERS'
Erika Christensen The drug addicted Daughter to Michael Douglas
in "Traffic," is in final negotiations to star in a lead role in
Fox Searchlight's dramedy "The Banger Sisters," according to the
Hollywood Reporter. The film stars Susan Sarandon and Goldie Hawn
as former rock 'n' roll groupies in the 1970s who reconnect in
the present day only to find out that one (Hawn) has remained
unchanged in her wild ways, while the other (Sarandon) has taken
a more conservative path. Christensen will play Sarandon's
daughter, a seemingly perfect girl who, under constant pressure
to meet her mother's high standards, begins experimenting with
drugs and sex.

NEW SCOOBY PIC
Warner Bros. has released a new promotional still of the cast
from the "Scooby-Doo" film. This pic is larger and of better
quality than the ones previously posted in the last newsletter.

'RESIDENT EVIL' CASTING
Variety reports that James Purefoy (Mansfield Park) has joined
the cast of "Resident Evil." The film based on the popular video
game will also star Milla Jovovich and Michelle Rodriguez.

CLOONEY MOVES TO 'COLLINWOOD'
George Clooney was to star in "Confessions of a Dangerous Mind"
for Bryan Singer, but the film fell apart due finacial
difficulties. Clooney has moved on and will take a supporting
role in the comedy feature "Welcome to Collinwood." According to
the Hollywood Reporter, The story follows a group of
working-class Cleveland men who attempt to rob a pawn shop.
Clooney will play Jerzy, the safecracker who teaches the gang how
to pull off the heist.

'CROUCHING TIGER 2'
E! Online reports that Ang Lee has announced he's planning a
prequel to his high-flying martial arts epic Crouching Tiger,
Hidden Dragon" that would bring back stars Chow Yun-Fat and
Michelle Yeoh. "Crouching Tiger" has become the top-grossing
foreign-language film of all time beating previous record holder,
Roberto Benigni's "Life Is Beautiful" and is one of the year's
top Oscar contenders.

DJ QUALLS TO SPEND 'CHRISTMAS WITH JD'
DJ Qualls ("Road Trip") has signed on to star in "Christmas with
JD," an indie feature to be directed by Malcolm Clarke. The film
tells of a a young man (Qualls) at a military boarding school who
goes on a physical and mental journey that parallels that of
Holden Caulfield in "The Catcher in the Rye." While on his
journey, he finds emotional and mental healing from the demons of
his past. In addition, Rachel Blanchard ("Road Trip") is expected
to star as Qualls' love interest.

ER'S WYLE JOINS 'ENOUGH'
Noah Wyle will star opposite Jennifer Lopez in Columbia Pictures'
thriller "Enough" for director Michael Apted. The project, which
began shooting this week. According to the Hollywood Reporter,
The story centers on a waitress (Lopez) who marries the man of
her dreams (Billy Campbell) but learns that he is abusive. After
a failed attempt to leave him, she takes her daughter and goes on
the run. Ultimately, she is forced to take matters into her own
hands to save her life and that of her child. The film also stars
Juliette Lewis who stars as Lopez's best friend and confidant.

FOX 200 PICKS UP 'CONFESSION'
Fox 2000 has acquired the feature film rights to Brian P. Wallace
and Bill Crowley's 2000 nonfiction book "Final Confession: The
Unsolved Crimes of Phil Cresta." The project is based on the true
story of Cresta, who was responsible for numerous hiests that
eventually put him on the FBI's 10 Most Wanted list.

FBI DISCOVERS PLOT TO KIDNAP RUSSELL CROWE
Russell Crowe recently played a freelance kidnap-hostage
negotiator in his latest film, "Proof of Life," and now he's the
target of a real-life abduction plot, the FBI said on Tuesday. No
details were revealed, but An FBI spokeswoman in Los Angeles said
federal agents are investigating a plot to kidnap the New
Zealand-born movie star and interviewed Crowe about the situation
as part of the probe.

HOLLYWOOD MEMORABILIA AUCTIONED
Awhile back we reported on some various Hollywood memorabilia
items that were going on the auction block to help support a
charity project called "Movie Action for Children," started by
Liam Neeson and his wife Natasha Richardson, well bidding has
begun. Here are a few of the items that were up for auction and
how much cash they bagged. A sword wielded by Mel Gibson in the
Oscar-winning epic film "Braveheart" fetched $170,000, the
bullwhip used by Harrison Ford in all three of the Indiana Jones
movies sold for $74,000, The wedding gown that Julia Roberts wore
in "Runaway Bride" went for $16,000, A 'light saber' used by
Qui-Gon Jinn (Neeson) in "The Phantom Menace" fetched $54,000.

WOMAN CHARGED FOR STALKING PAMELA ANDERSON
A woman allegedly obsessed with former "Baywatch" beauty Pamela
Anderson was charged on Tuesday with trespassing on the actress's
Malibu, Calif., property over the weekend. Roth was initially
arrested on a trespassing charge and later jailed on suspicion of
stalking, Deputy District Attorney Martin Herscovitz said. But
she was not officially charged with stalking because sufficient
evidence was not available, he said, adding, "I think she wanted
to see Pamela Anderson but there was no evidence she was there to
hurt her or threaten her."

'FRASIER' BACK FOR 3 MORE YEARS
NBC and producer Paramount Network Television have struck a $374
million renewal deal that will keep the Kelsey Grammer-led sitcom
on the network until May 2004.

'BETTE' SITCOM CANCELLED
CBS has cancelled the 'Bette' Television series because of low
ratings. Reuters reports that The 16th original episode of
"Bette," starring singer-actress Bette Midler in a sitcom spoof
of her own diva persona, is now scheduled to be its last when it
airs on Wednesday night.

DELANY LEAVING NY FOR 'PHILLY'
Kim Delany will be leaving her role as New York police Detective
Diane Russell on ABC's popular "NYPD Blue" at the end of this
season to star in a new series called "Philly," in which she
plays Philadelphia lawyer Kathleen Maguire. Her exit from the
show will be done in a way that will allow her to return to the
show.

"In the future, everyone will be famous for 15 minutes," said
Andy Warhol, back in 1967, and this action thriller follows a
celebrated New York Homicide Detective (Robert De Niro) who teams
up with an idealistic, young Fire Dept. Arson Investigator
(Edward Burns) to track down a pair of Eastern European killers
(Karel Roden, Oleg Taktarov). "I love America! No one is
responsible for what they do," marvels the cunning Czech, while
the Russian obsessively records their crime spree on video tape.
Using their media attention to attain fame, they capture the
attention of a glib tabloid news anchor (Kelsey Grammer) and wind
up as his lurid "Top Story."

While director/writer John Herzfeld ("2 Days in the Valley")
"borrows" much of this concept from "Network," the plot has the
subtlety of a sledgehammer. Cinematographer Jean Yves Escoffier
creates edgy suspense, particularly during the graphic arson
scenes. Wearing a black wig, Charlize Theron does a cameo as the
madam at an escort service, Melina Kankaredes ("Providence") is a
reporter, and Kim Cattrall ("Sex and the City") scores as a
ruthless "If it bleeds, it leads" TV producer. Robert De Niro's
role is so reminiscent of his previous performances that he seems
to do it effortlessly, if superficially, while Edward Burns
struggles to overcome the sheer blandness of the way his part is
written. As the savvy sociopaths, Karel Roden and Oleg Taktarov
steal the picture, leaving Kelsey Grammer as a slimy,
one-dimensional villain.

On the Granger Movie Gauge of 1 to 10, "15 Minutes" is a gritty,
satirical 6. If sensational fame is truly the American game,
we're all losers.

EDWARD BURNS

Edward Burns was born in Valley Stream, Long Island in New York
State on January 29th, 1968.

His father Sr. Edward J. Burns is a retired police sergeant. Ed's
mother Molly worked for the Federal Aviation Administration at
Kennedy Airport. Edward is a middle child - he has an older
sister Mary and a younger brother Brian, who is a
producer/screenwriter. All in all he grew up in a traditional
Irish Catholic family.

Burns first attended The State University of New York at Albany
and majored in English Literature but his junior year transferred
to Hunter College in Manhattan to study filmmaking, where he
began writing screenplays.

After completing several short films, Burns graduated with big
dreams. Meanwhile, through his father's connection with Dunleavy,
he secured a part-time job as a production assistant for the show
"The Reporters." Simultaneously, he began filming "McMullen," an
eighteen-day shot that dragged over eighteen months. His father
was a producer. His mother was the caterer. The Burns' Long
Island colonial provided most of the sets. When "The Reporters"
folded midway through "McMullen," Burns found similar work with
"Entertainment Tonight." Together with his younger brother Brian
he formed Irish Twin Productions and put together enough cash to
make "The Brothers McMullen," which won the Grand Jury Prize at
the Sundance Film Festival and went to gross more than $10
million at the domestic box office.

Burns followed up "The Brothers Mcmullen" with a pair of piquant
independent films he also wrote, directed and acted in - "She's
The One," with Jennifer Aniston and Cameron Diaz a romantic
comedy with more mainstream appeal and audiences involved into
it, and "No Looking Back," with Lauren Holly and Jon Bon Jovi,
filmed in 1998. Also in 1998 Burns took a role as one of the foot
soldiers, private Reiben, who went in search of a missing soldier
in Steven Spielberg's movie "Saving Private Ryan." The film ended
up being one of the most critticaly acclaimed films of all time.
