ANG LEE DIRECTING 'HULK'
Some reports say Ang Lee (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon) is in
talks to helm the in development "Hulk" movie project, others say
it's a done deal, either way it looks like it is going to happen.
In recent interview, producer Gale Anne Hurd stated "We are
really thrilled," she told Variety, "Ang will bring the
characters and the drama to the foreground, and in addition to
his visual storytellng ability, I can't think of anyone today who
is operating at a higher level across the board."

VOIGHT IN 'ALI'
John Voight, who currently is working on the "Tomb Raider'
project has joined the cast of "Ali." Reports are that Voight
will be taking on the role of the late sportscaster Howard
Cosell.

JADA PINKETT SMITH JOINES 'ALI'
John Voight is not the only recent addtion to the cast of "Ali,"
Jada Pinkett Smith will join her husband Will Smith in the "Ali"
biopic. Jada will shoot her role of Sonji Roi, Ali's first wife
before heading to Australia to shoot her parts in "The Matrix 2 &
3."

DAY LEWIS TAKING IT TO 'HEART'
According to ShowBiz Ireland, Daniel Day Lewis may not be
retiring again after he wraps "Gangs of New York." The site
reports that Lewis is "set to" take on the big screen version of
Nathaniel Philbrick's book In the Heart of the Sea: The Tragedy
of the Whaleship Essex which tells the true-life story of the
only unprovoked attack by a whale on a whaling ship. In the 18th
century, the Essex was attacked and eventually sunk by an angry
sperm whale leaving very few survivors, who were also said to
have been forced into cannibalism to survive.

'THE MESSENGER' PITCH
According to Variety, Revolution Studios has picked up a comedy
action pitch called "The Messenger" that will star Eddie Griffin
(Double Take). "Messenger" will tell the story of a New York city
bike messenger who comes upon a strange talisman that gives him
super powers. Ed Decter is attached to direct.

OWN QUI-GON JINN'S LIGHTSABER
How would you like to own the lightsaber used by Qui-Gon Jinn in
Star Wars Episode 1 - The Phantom Menace? You can if you have the
winning bid. This is just one item up for auction by UNICEF's
Movie Action For Kids auction event. Other movie memorabilia
going on the block is the boxing gloves used by Denzel Washington
in "The Hurricane," The familiar white shirt worn by Ralph
Fiennes in "The English Patient" has been signed and donated,
also The sword used by Mel Gibson in "Braveheart" will be up for

'SPIDEY' COSTUME REVEALED
Columbia pictures has released an exclusive first look at a
Spidey suited Tobey Maguire. Entertainment Weekly was the first
to show this picture online at

KING, SABLE JOIN 'RUSH HOUR 2'
Alan King is the latest addition to the now filming "Rush Hour
2." In a recent interview with Variety columnist Army Archerd,
King revealed that in the coming film he will be playing a
"villainous Las Vegas casino owner." In related news, it's also
being reported that Stephen Sable (Godzilla) has also signed on
to the film for a lead role.

ELLIOT'S FRIEND ENTERING 'MATRIX'?
Recently Stuart Wells, who played Billy Elliot's best friend
Michael sat down with Empire Online. In the interview Wells
revealed that he had auditioned for a role in the coming "Matrix
2" project by saying "I screentested for 'em, did some kicks and
punches and stuff, and now they're going to send me some more
lines. Although if I get the part I'll have to take a few
elocution lessons." In addition he added "They need an agile
teenager with black hair, I'm definitely up for it, but I don't
know how many others are, so fingers crossed eh?"

COSTNER EYEING 'TWO GUYS'
Kevin Costner is on the verge of signing on to a Beacon
Communications action thriller called "Two Guys on the Job."
According to Variety, the story will tell of two San Francisco
cops and buddies who gradually become enemies when one is tempted
to the darker side of life due to constant immersion in an
environment of prostitution, drugs, temptation and police
corruption. Eventually, the two men must confront their past in
order to save their own lives. Beacon as of yet has not found an
actor to play opposite Costner as the "bad" cop.

FOSTER JOINS 'BLACK HAWK'
Variety reports that Ben Foster (Liberty Heights) is the latest
addition to the cast of Ridley Scott's "Black Hawk Down" His role
in the film has not been confirmed, though it's reported that
he's likely to play an American soldier.

NO 'MATRIX' FOR YEOH
While recently talking to the New York Post, Yeoh said, "I'm not
going to do The Matrix. I'm a great fan of the Wachowski brothers
but some things are more important. the filming of [The Matrix]
conflicted with my movie. I believe it is time to do other
things, stories coming from Asia. At the end of the day you have
to do what's really important to you."

BASINGER SEEKS DIVORCE FROM BALDWIN
One of Hollywood's most celebrated couples, Oscar-winning actress
Kim Basinger and actor Alec Baldwin, have filed for divorce after
seven years of marriage. Publicist Annette Wolf said the couple
were citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the
split.

FOX AFFILIATE DROPS 'TEMPTATION ISLAND'
A Fox television affiliate in North Carolina has decided to drop
the network's new "reality" series "Temptation Island" after
learning that one of the couples being enticed to break up on the
show has a child, Fox officials said on Friday. The controversy
over "Temptation" heated up this week when it was revealed that
one of the couples concealed their joint parental status, a fact
they let slip about midway through taping of the show. Fox
officials said the participation in the show was off-limits to
couples with children and the pair were booted off the island as
soon as their secret was exposed.

CARREY BUYS $41M PLANE
Jim Carrey has ponied up $41 million for a Gulfstream V, one of
only 100 or so of the newer aircraft in service in the world,
according to sources. The plane, mostly purchased by top
corporations and U.S. and foreign governments, is owned by only a
handful of individuals. "Private owners of a Gulfstream V is a
pretty exclusive group," said Gulfstream spokesman Keith Mordoff,
who would not confirm Carrey's purchase. Other celebrity owners
of Gulfstream aircraft include John Travolta and Tom Cruise, both
pilots. The fast, long-range GV can fly as high as 51,000 feet
and make a New York to Tokyo trip nonstop. Other features of the
aircraft include its 100% fresh air, which Mordoff said allows
passengers to feel more refreshed after their flight.

"SURVIVOR'S' RUDY GET ACTION FIGURE
An action figure of Rudy Boesch, who appeared on the first
installment of CBS's "Survivor," will be launched at the American
International Toy Fair Feb. 12 in New York. The 12-inch
collectable figure will be available in specialty retail stores
as a new addition to the "Elite Force Military Figures From
History," a collection from Blue Box Toys. "Rudy became a hero
long before his days on any TV series," Blue Box spokesperson
Michael Murphy said of the former Navy SEAL. "He's a highly
decorated member of the military and that's the characterization
we've depicted." Boesch joined the Navy in 1945 and was a member
of the original SEAL Team, completing two combat deployments to
Vietnam. In the '80s, Boesch was named the Naval Special Warfare
Community's "Bull Frog," an award presented to the SEAL serving
the longest time on active duty.

PAMELA ANDERSON COMPUTER PROGRAM
For less than $5, fans of Pamela Anderson can have the former
"Baywatch" beauty in the palm of their hand. Anderson debuted the
PortaPam computer program Wednesday, which enables a cartoon
version of herself to be downloaded onto tiny digital organizers.
"I think my fans will enjoy playing with PortaPam and helping
manage her career on their hand-held computers," the 33-year-old
actress said. Users must keep the scantily clad caricature happy
by clicking on a list of food, gifts and affectionate remarks, or
the computerized Pam becomes grouchy or despondent.

CALISTA FLOCKHART ADOPTS BABY
Actress Calista Flockhart, who stars as a lovelorn lawyer on the
popular Fox television show "Ally McBeal," has adopted a baby
boy, but plans to keep working and still wants to experience her
own pregnancy in the future, she said in a statement. "I have
always wanted to adopt a child and I am overjoyed that I have
been blessed with a beautiful and healthy son," Flockhart, 36,
said in the statement issued after a tabloid newspaper published
photos of her carrying an infant. "I'm completely enchanted and
awe-struck," she said Thursday. "I feel extremely fortunate and
grateful that I work for such a supportive company that offers a
wonderful child care facility, enabling me to spend a lot of time
with my son while I'm working."

'DR DEATH' TV SHOW
The story of serial killer Harold Shipman is to be made into a
television drama starring actor James Bolam, Yorkshire Television
said on Saturday. Shipman, dubbed "Dr Death" by the British
media, was convicted last January of murdering 15 elderly
patients with lethal heroin injections. He received 15 life
sentences. A chilling government report said Britain's most
prolific serial killer may have killed up to 297 of the patients
in his care over the past two decades.

GOLDEN GLOBE PRESENTERS
Tom Cruise, Denzel Washington, James Gandolfini and Edie Falco
have been lined up as presenters for the 58th Annual Golden Globe
Awards. Kevin Spacey has also been tapped to present this year's
Cecil B. DeMille Award to Al Pacino for his contribution to the
entertainment field. Katie Flynn, the daughter of actress Jane
Seymour will also participate in the ceremony as Miss Golden
Globe, a title given to the offspring of a well-known performer
who assists in the awards ceremony. The Golden Globe Awards will
air live on NBC Sunday, Jan. 21.

LENO GETS CONTRACT EXTENTION
Jay Leno, host of "The Tonight Show," is now signed up for a
longer term than the man he's been making fun of. NBC announced
Wednesday it has signed Leno to a contract extension that will
keep him on the late-night laugh circuit through the end of 2005.

SARANDON & ALEXANDER TO GUEST ON 'FRIENDS'
Susan Sarandon and Jason Alexander are set to guest star on
separate episodes of NBC's "Friends" next month. Sarandon will
play a Days of our Lives diva whom Joey must fire, while
Alexander will portray a suicidal man Phoebe encounters after
becoming a telemarketer.

LAST SEASON FOR 'WALKER'
In recent interviews Chuck Norris has said that the current,
eighth season of his CBS series "Walker, Texas Ranger" will be
it's last.
