In 1997/1998, I emailed Maureen McCormick's "official"
web site. (The old official site, not the current one).
If memory serves me correctly, I think that I posted a courteous
critical remark about the web site: Essentially, that no one
updated the web site. (I'm a photographer and I like web sites to
have updated pictures.)
Sure enough, I get an email from someone named "Irene
McCormick."
I didn't know who she was until I searched the Internet and
discovered that she was Maureen's mother. I don't normally
write to "movie stars" and of course, I was skeptical that it
was actually "Irene McCormick."
I didn't want to monopolize her time so I only wrote 2 or 3
times. I forgot her answer but she was very sweet. I never met her
but I do want to say that it was very thoughtful that she answered
my email.
I subsequently purchased McCormick's CD. Not only did I get the
CD quickly, I got a T-shirt, autograph poster, and a signed picture
which is excellent customer service (i.e., giving people more than
they ask for).
So thanks, Irene.
