Michael Cudlitz's new NBC series "Southland" premieres tonight at 10/9c. Michael plays Officer John Cooper, a 20-year veteran and training officer instructing rookie officer Ben Sherman (played by Ben McKenzie).
Also look out for his upcoming projects. He will star with Bruce Willis in "Surrogates", Luke Wilson in "Tenure" and "Crossing Over" with Ray Liotta and Harrison Ford.
Born in New York and raised in New Jersey, Michael moved to California to attend CALARTS where he earned his BFA in acting. Since then he has appeared in over 15 films, including A River Runs Through It, Gross Point Blank and The Negotiator. A few of his notable television credits include Bones, Life, Criminal Minds, Lost, Over There, Las Vegas, CSI: Miami, CSI: NY, CSI: Vegas, Nip/Tuck, Six Feet Under, The Mind of the Married Man, NYPD Blue, ER, Buffy: The Vampire Slayer and Michael was recently seen in a recurring role on The Practice.
A passionate 'weekend warrior,' Michael is an accomplished carpenter and lives in the house he built with his wife and twin boys.
