Dear Friends of the Media Center:
Lately, you may have noticed our new "buzz" here at the Community Media Center.
We
still provide crucial services for our community, like election coverage, local
production
access to five cable television channels that are simulcast on the Internet, and
outstanding
production services for nonprofits. But these days we are expanding our focus,
to more
classes about exciting Web 2.0 technology, to more youth-related and community
activities, like our co-sponsorship of the Green Light Film Festival, Youth
Video Week, and
Palo Alto Promenade, to our new blog and web-based video on demand, and to an
increased suite of services for nonprofits and small businesses.
Our current slogan, "Building Community through Media," captures some of our
current
activities, but not all. We'd like to come up with a new slogan, one that
reflects our
expanded services and focus, and we thought that you, our producers, volunteers,
and
supporters, might be a wonderful source of help for this project. You know the
Media
Center better than others; you can help us define our identity for the public as
we grow
and evolve. So we'd like to invite YOU to participate in our new slogan
contest.
Our ideal new slogan will be short, evocative, interesting, memorable, and not
otherwise
trademarked. It will help everyone understand the broad range of services
available here
at the Media Center; it will generate excitement and interest. The winning
slogan will
appear on our website and marketing materials, and the winner will earn a $75
Visa gift
card! There is no limit on the number of times you can enter, and no age limit,
although
we ask that any children who submit suggestions do so with the knowledge and
permission of their parents.
Please submit any slogan suggestions via email to annie@...
by 5
PM on Monday August 13th. Please be sure to include name, address, and phone
number
so that we may notify you if you win. All submissions will become the property
of the
Media Center and no further remuneration will be owed to any contest participant
for the
use of their slogan.
Thank you in advance for helping us find a wonderful new phrase to represent the
Media
Center in this new millennium!
