Media Center Spotlight Screening: Haiti Eco-Sanitation Project, Ma   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #421 of 827 |
Longtime Midpeninsula Community Media Center producer Jenny Benorden, creator of the multi-award-winning global issues program 4-Directions, will be the first producer featured in the Media Center's new evening screening series, "Producer Spotlight."

Jenny will present a slideshow of photographs taken on her recent trip to Haiti. The images focus largely on Shada, an impoverished neighborhood of Cap Haitien, Haiti's largest city in the North, where SOIL--Sustainable Organic Integrated Livelihoods--has launched an ecological sanitation project. SOIL (www.oursoil.org), a non-profit organization founded by Stanford ecologist Sasha Kramer, is working to restore sanitation, fertile soil, agriculture, and dignity for the rural population of Haiti.

Video of the trip will be released as a new episode of 4-Directions in March 2007.

When/Where: This Friday night, March 2, 7:00pm
