19<br><br>Matthew Perry just can't seem to get a break.<br><br>Not
long after completing a stint in rehab, the Friends
star suffered a<br>scraped arm Wednesday morning when
his BMW collided with another car in a<br>West Los
Angeles intersection, authorities said.<br><br>But this
one wasn't his fault. Los Angeles police say Perry,
31, was<br>heading west down Santa Monica Boulevard
at about 11:45 a.m., when an<br>unidentified
75-year-old woman failed to yield, pulling her '89
Ford<br>Escort into oncoming traffic. The car collided with
Perry's gray 2000<br>Beamer.<br><br>Officer Eduardo Funes
says there were no injuries other than a
"minor<br>abrasion" on Perry's forearm (the actor reportedly sought
his own medical<br>treatment), but he says both cars
were banged up in the crash. "The Ford<br>received
major damage to its left side, and the BMW received
major damage<br>to the front side," Funes
said.<br><br>Police say the woman was at fault in the collision, but
there were no<br>arrests, and there are no charges
pending. Funes says there's no<br>indication either driver
was intoxicated at the time of the crash.<br><br>This
is hardly the best timing for Perry, who over the
past year has<br>already faced a string of personal
problems and addiction-related<br>troubles. Last May, the
actor crashed his Porsche into the porch of
a<br>Hollywood Hills home, shortly after being hospitalized for
acute<br>pancreatitis, a rare inflammation caused partly by years of
alcohol abuse<br>and prescription drugs.<br><br>Then in
February, Perry's work on Friends and the upcoming movie
Servicing<br>Sara was halted, after he abruptly checked himself
into rehab--reportedly<br>for a dependence on Vicodin,
methadone and speed.<br><br>The wise-cracking actor
returned to the set of Friends last month, in time<br>to
shoot the final episodes of the NBC sitcom's seventh
season, including<br>the much-anticipated May 17 wedding
episode with Perry and Courteney
Cox<br>Arquette.<br><br>Perry's publicist could not immediately be reached for
comment on<br>Wednesday's
collision.<br><br>-----<br>Matthew Perry, the "Friends" star who has had a
string of
personal<br>troubles, was involved in a car crash in Los Angeles last
Friday,<br>but police say the actor was not injured. According
to the LAPD,<br>another driver ran a stop sign and
crashed her car into Perry's<br>brand new BMW. The other
driver also escaped unharmed. Perry's<br>publicist
issued a statement saying the actor swerved to
avoid<br>the other car. The statement said -- and police
confirmed -- that<br>no drugs or alcohol were involved.
Perry entered a rehab clinic<br>earlier this year for
treatment of a problem that he did not<br>disclose. He had
acknowledged receiving treatment in 1997 for<br>chemical
dependency. Last May, Perry crashed his Porsche into
a<br>house when he swerved to avoid hitting an oncoming car
on a<br>narrow, winding road in the Hollywood Hills.
He escaped injury<br>in that incident, and police
said there no evidence that alcohol<br>or drugs were
