Krocheting for Kids is a small non-profit group. And we need your
help, or for the matter your unused yarn.

Just to let everyone know I have started a crochet group at my work,
I will be teaching some of the women to crochet and some of them
will be making shawls and blankets. We will have our first meeting
the first week of February to discuss our plan of strategy on how we
want to start but by our second meeting I would like to be working
on some projects.

We will be presenting them to terminally ill children next Christmas
for gifts. I got the idea when I was asked to donate some yarn
(which I have tons now. I bought a ton of it) for women to make
blankets for the homeless. I just thought it would be great for the
kids if they have to stay in the hospital over the holidays. You
know I spend a lot of time in the hospital myself and this holiday
was no different and I thought it has to be even more horrible to be
a kid in there at this time of year.

So... out of my tiny brain came the idea and now I've got 8 women
plus me that will be making them. I might just put up a web page on
my site either asking for yarn donations or money to help get more
yarn. I spent over 200.00 of my own to get started, I got a ton but
I fear it will not be enough. I hope by next Christmas we will have
quite a few blankets for the boys and babies and shawls for the
girls.

I was also thinking about maybe teddy bears but I will hold off on
that for now, one thing at a time for me. lol

Please NO little yarn pieces, full or half skns. Also no yarn that
smells like cigarette smoke, I can't smell it because of my asthma
and I know the kids don't want to smell it when they wrap a blanket
or shawl around them.
