hi all,
since there is a interest in knowing how to download
Marathi stuff, i shall take
the liberty to inform all how to go abt it. its really
simple:
1. sign up at the site (its free anyways)
2. this site operates on the BitTorrent (a.k.a. BT)
P2P protocol, hence what you
will get from this site is a small file (with
.bittorrent as its extension)
3. install any good BT dowlnoad client - i would
recommend ABC client
(http://pingpong-abc.sourceforge.net/) or Azureus
(http://azureus.sourceforge.net/)
4. Some configuration will be needed for the clients,
but there is a detailed
help section on the site and you can read thru to
yours heart's content.
5. Once you have the BT client installed, all you need
to do is open the
.bittorrent in this client and choose the location
where you want to save the
media file.
That's it - you are set to watch the media when the
download completes. some
points of concern raised by other members are valid
and my answers to those
queries are:
a. the software i have recommended is open source and
hence completely open to
scrutiny. There is no spyware/adware or un-necessary
bundling of stuff. Besides
the softwares are completely free of cost (they
operate on a donation basis). I
personally have been using this stuff for a long time
now and have absolutely no
complaints !!
b. Depending on the download speeds you may have
(University, Home, Office, etc)
the time required to complete the DL may vary from
person to person. besides it
also depends if someone is sharing the complete file
(a.k.a. "Seeding" the
complete file)
c. The website i mentioned is a "Desi" community
website. They also operate on a
donation basis and is purely driven by the members.
Hence remember to share
whatever media files you may obtain from that site -
simple etiquette - nothing
more :-) if you do feel like, make a donation to keep
the site running in the
future as well.
