Mahadwar, a new daily on ETV
A new daily serial Mahadwar premiered on ETV Marathi on July 8. Mahadwar,
telecast from Monday-Friday at 7.30 pm is based on a sensitive subject, very
close to the female heart. Highlighting oriental values in a dramatic manner,
the subject deals with the egos, aspirations and ambitions and very essentially
basic instincts of individuals tied together in relationships, on different
levels.
Iravati a simple girl from village, builds her life according to her dreams, but
not without facing an emotional storm. She, however, is unaware, that every
sensitive person goes through such turmoil and this trauma leads to insight in
life. She also realises in the course of time that people around her too have
faced different upheavels and fought with themselves. All this ultimately
culminates into deeper and better understanding of life.
Produced and directed by Mahesh Satoskar, Mahadwar is written by Aruna Joglekar.
The duo has so far given memorable creations like award-winning Marathi feature
film Mahananda and Nivdung. They created a Hindi serial Phoolvanti for veteran
singer Usha Mangeshkar. Their recent landmarks were Mahashweta (daily soap for
DD1) and Khamang a unique recipe show combining excellent presentation and high
value diet made popular.
Mahesh Satoskar invariably works with Pt. Hridaynath Mangeshkar as both the
creators are very finely tuned. Mahadwar too has a title song rendered by Lata
Mangeshkar spreading the magic of Hridaynath Mangeshkar’s composition. The
serial is co-produced by Utkarsh Mallya.
Journey of the main characters, from a point of innocence, a point of ignorance,
a point of selfishness and point of vanity, to a destination of realisations, on
various levels, goes through a complicated route of heartbreaks, deceit,
reckless greed and anguish on one hand, whereas unselfish devotion, thoughtful
positive interaction, purity of emotions and a deep search of the very core of
one’s being on the other hand, weaving the fabric of life in exclusive colour.
