gandhian social worker padmabhushan anna hazare has been fighting
against corruption for his life time and has succeded in getting
seven state govt ministers removed from ministry and politics. he
was even sent to jail by a corrupt judge but under pressure from
masses, he was forced out of jail by the then government.

anna hazare also succeded in getting over three hundred corrupt
government officers dismissed/suspended and several others fined
heavilly.

seven corrupt police officers - oncluding state commissioner of
police RS Sharma were suspneded and sent to jail in famous TELGI
stamp paper case filed by anna hazare in mumbai high court.

anna hazare is recepient of padmashri, padmabhushan, prime
minister's vrikshamitra award, CARE international award,
Transperency internation's integrity award at seoul korea and so on.

anna resides in an temple and has remained unmarried so that he
could serve the nation and citizens.

recent achievements of anna are 1. most effective right to
information in maharashtra during august 2003 - central act is a
copy of maharashtra law 2. right to recall elected sarpanch by
village gramsabha 3. law to remove administrative delays - no paper
to remain on one table for more than a week 4. law to regulate
transfer of govt servants - no one can be transferred before
stipulated three year period except by direct orders of chief
minister.

anna succeded in getting a commission of enquiry by a retired
supreme court judge PB Sawant going against four corrupt state govt
officers. the govt arranged to get these ministers clean chit by
appointing a three member advisory bodt - task force. anna has
succeded in getting the report of such task force cancelled and now
anna's lawyer and state advocate general will advise govt on action
against tainted ministers.

yet there is battle ahead. special court has to be appointed with
special judge to try these corrupt ministers. anna fought in sawant
commission for over 15 months on day to dat basis.

now there is no money in kitty. to continue his fight against
corrupt ministers, anna needs money. voluntary contributions can be
