hey bob, thanks for the review. i was about to have to prod brian or bo
past the hang-over and into some opine, but i now have it all in writing.
sure sounds like i missed some fun and i try not to let that happen. what a
treat to get mark and pete to help our own "haves" crank out even more of
that real good stuff. have upped the radar for these "Live from..." road
trips and hope to see all soon. "Is nowhere safe now?" Dave Sherman

>Wow! The Arlington Cinema & Drafthouse was a rockin' on Sunday night!
>The evening started off with 5 archived live song performances from
>Capt. Tunes, Skip Castro Band & The Casuals, followed by the "Version
>2" of the rockumentary "Live from the Hook" - which I must say is
>even better than version 1 with some additional footage and
>commentary. The guys from the Nighthawks (Pete Ragusa and Mark
>Wenner) LOVED the movie. Of course, Mark has some of the best
>comments onscreen about U.Va being "wide open" in the 70's and about
>being on the roof of ATO, etc...
>A very good crowd of about 230 on hand had the place pretty full, and
>everyone was pumped up and ready for Skip Castro Band to take the
>stage. After we finally got up to "move all the tables & move all the
>chairs"...there was a lot of boogieing up front! Bo is still Bo,
>except maybe better - at least when it comes to singing and playing
>those Rolling Stones nuggets for the encores ("jumping jack flash"
>& "midnight rambler"). Charlie & Corky were steady rocking and
>Charlie is still a big cheerleader - having more fun than anybody
>there. Eric H. on keyboards again - he is a wonderful musician and
>an even better singer. We always miss Danny, but Eric is a real pro
>and lends some fantastic vocals! Guest star, Mark Wenner from the
>Nighthawks added a lot of power & fun with his wailing harp fills &
>solos for a number of songs...and a surprise special guest, Dick
>Green added some fine blues guitar to the party - after some awful
>feedback during the first song.
>
>If you live in Northern Virginia/DC/MD and didn't make it, shame on
>you and shame on me and Deke for not getting you to come. This
>traveling show will happen again - maybe in Richmond, Baltimore,
>other Virginia cities? Event successfully raised some needed $$ for
>the completion of the movie. Don't miss your next chance!
