RE: [livefromthehook] 12/30 show review what did i miss

the All-Stars were the Bruised All-Stars, and the lack of the female lead
vocalist (take note i did use the term chick-singer) was apparent. Doug Jay
morphed into a lounge act somewhere in Europe at some point during the past
20 years, but I did REALLY LIKE Steve Bliley's shirt. Was great to see Paul
Hammond but i never did saw his lovely wife "The Judge". He and Riggs are
still a fine rhythm section and Dick can still pick, and if you don't look
closely you wouldn't even know he was ever
a P.O.W. I saw Sandy Gray on the sidewalk at one point, but my subscription
to soap-opera digest has long expired so i don't know why he wasn't on stage
with them. So, call me again in 2027 when they get back together, but that
will be soon enough, and it was good to see one and all.
Capt'n Tunes and His Fabulous Noteguns really rocked, again, and i'm not
just saying nice things about them until they pay me for the drugs.
Gibby and Ralph were great. Real serious power came out of the very low
end as Gibby"s foot was strong and steady. They learned all that stuff
together, so long ago, i don't they are even capable of screwing it up at
this point. I was again told Bo Randall doesn't play much. You couldn't
prove it by me.
Charlie is such a stellar bass player, as well as a fine guitar player,
and innately knows where to be musically to make it all just right. The
Captain was in very good form on vocals. I thought he set the bar so high
in October it would never be reached but he "done good". Not that i would
know much about either" bars" or "high".
A fine time was had by all, and again it was such a wonderful turn out of
"our" people you just couldn't have more fun with your clothes on.
Love ya, and we missed you Gayle.
Must now return to packing for the Delbert cruise, coffee with Marcia
Ball, and i am carrying hellos from Charlie to Big Al Anderson, and will
tell Delbert, et al , we love'm and ummm, sure was good!
later Dave Sherman
