Very good idea and I totally agree it's a great thing to for your
career! I started writing a couple years ago actually to remain active
and be creative in my career. I've finished three pilots and three
features. I'm just now coming into my own as a writer, it takes time
when you are self taught! A friend of mine just became a literary
agent, so she is passing one of screenplays on to a network. We'll see
what happens!
Also, just to help everyone understand the process, it was a lot
easier for Zach Braff to make his film since he was starring in his
own TV show. It's more difficult now than ever since film production
has been cut in half and we are looking at an impending strike from
the directors, writers and actors.
Anyway, I'm always hopeful something might break in another area
besides acting. Wish me luck!
