Does anyone know anything about the festival this year? Does anyone
know why email inquiries to the festival website and festival
director go unanswered?
I've sent numerous emails (starting over a month ago) to the festival
asking for dates and a schedule. I was interested in attending the
event, and wanted to plan travel arrangements. I have yet to receive
a single reply. I understand the festival is already underway and
will wrap up today. The website hasn't been updated since early
summer.
How can a startup festival or experienced festival operate like this
and expect to be successful? How they can expect people to support
them in the future?
I've participated in numerous contests the past few years – some big
(national), some small (within the state of Utah). I've never had
this kind of experience. Each email was answered in a timely manner.
Contest finalists and winners were posted on the websites. If there
was a delay, contest participants were notified by email.
Participants were always kept in the loop. And if they weren't, a
simple email would remedy the problem.
So, my question is – what's up with Gloria? If a festival is eager to
take your work, and your money, they should at least give you the
time of day for supporting their contest.
