Description

The purpose of this group is to provide a discussion forum for everything and anything relating in any way to films by, for and/or about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and its members. Group members may be Mormon or non-Mormon; topics may include anything related to LDS films and filmmaking, including screenplays and scripts; existing LDS movies; acting and casting; directing and producing; digital video and filmography techniques; lighting and sound; and so on.

This forum is largely unmoderated. However, when people rant in lengthy diatribes, or join in excessively contentiousness or vulgar language, or indulge in any serious breaches of civility, and/or unwarranted negativity toward group members or toward the Church, the moderator reserves the right to warn and even "give the boot." :) Feedback, questions, and/or concerns, however, are quite welcome. Join us for a fun, provocative, and informative ongoing dialogue on the Mormon Cinema experience!

Re: LDS filmmaker says Book of Mormon set in North America
Merrill has been influenced by the problematic theories being promoted by Rod Meldrum, a thorough analysis of which is available here:

LDS filmmaker says Book of Mormon set in North America
FYI: LDS filmmaker Kieth Merrill says he picked the background for "The Testaments" by default, and if he had it to do over, he would have sought locations in
