I don't know about wav files but there is a video with tons of his
commercials for various different things. (I have it, bought it on
eBay) If you want more info on the tape let me know. Hope this was
helpful.

Hey Roy,

I found it for you!! http://www.jimvarney.net/enestmovs.html
It's kind of expensive but I bet it's worth it! You should also
check www.ebay.com just in case. There is usually lots of Ernest
stuff on there.

From rkees:

Does anyone know where I can get a copy or an original of
the Hey Vern! It's My Family Album video. I used to have
it years ago, but it got lost along the way. I understand
that it is very hard to come by and I would just like to
see it again. If anyone would be willing to make me a
copy, I will send them a blank tape.

Thanks

Roy

If anyone has seen the Hey, Ernest! It's My Family Album movie, you
will know that there is a skit in which Jim Varney plays Billy Boogie
Worrell, a Scrambler operator at a fair. Does anyone know the name
of the song that is playing during this skit?

lol Hey man it's okay! I love it that someone is actually posting
now! =) I haven't seen that camp one yet... everyone tells me it's
great! So I'll have to rent it sometime. Oh! if u want that Dr.
Otto tape (or pretty much any other Ernest tape) try eBay if you
haven't already because sometimes on there you can get brand new
still-wrapped Ernest videos on there for cheap!

I also felt stupid for not understanding the joke in "Jail" right
away, but when my Mom got a kick out of it I realized and then I was
laughing too :)
Yes, he was in that commercial, I think on that greatest hits
tape. I plan to get it, after I get Dr. Otto! That movie looks so
cool.
Thank you for the welcome! And thanks so much for making this
club, I'm glad to have joined it. And even though it's small, we're
still here and we can all help each other find movies and other
related items. And even if people do leave, due to the lack of posts,
I know more people will show up over time, because anyone who wants
to know more about someone in TV or music should definitely look into
the yahoo groups. I should've thought of this earlier, instead of
just looking for websites. There are a lot of posts in the guestbooks
I've seen, so there is interest, if they realize the yahoo group
exists.
All it takes is one good interesting topic to get things rolling
in discussion. But even if there isn't constant conversation, it's
okay, because when I want to bring up a topic, at least you answer,
so that's cool, thanks! And I know a friend who would probably like
to join, because he's cool (the only reason he wouldn't is that he's
not online a lot, always busy with some report for college). I know
he will remember the Ernest movies when I bring them up again, so I
was waiting to show him "Camp" for the reintroduction when he visits
over winter break. Nah, I should play "Christmas" instead! I'll play
it for my dad too. I don't think he's seen it.
Cool about watching the Christmas one every year! I'm looking
forward to it already. I would say Merry Christmas now, but I'm sure
I'll post again before then :D

Wow that IS an old post! Thanks so much for joining the club and
actually posting a message! Welcome!
Ya know I feel stupid... that is so obvious... and REALY FUNNY!!
Although I think I also remember him being on a commercial warning of
the dangers of smoking... I think I have it on tape... not that I'm
complaining- it's a good thing of course...
ya I've only seen a handful of his movies but I want to see more!
I'm hoping to start the tradition of watching the Christmas one every
year from now on. =)

I'm new here, and want to answer an old post about "Ernest Goes To Jail."

As mentioned a while back, when he's about to go into the electric chair, they
ask him, "Any last requests? Last cigarette, perhaps?" or something like that,
and he says something like, "Cigarettes'll kill ya!"

Now, Jim Varney never had a picture taken of him while smoking, because he
didn't want his fans to think it was OK to smoke. However, there are two good
reasons why we can still laugh at this line in the movie:

1. In the film, Ernest is about to go in the electric chair. The whole idea
behind the joke is this: What does he care if he has a cigarette before he gets
the chair? He's getting the chair! LOL So it's a great part.

2. While it is very sad we lost Mr. Varney at such a young age, there is one
thing he has that the rest of us don't:

All of us must go sometime, but even though Jim's gone 3 years this February
coming up, his movies are here to stay, (the Ernest Goes To Jail DVD was just
released in 2 months ago!) and let me tell you, I watch "Ernest Saves Christmas"
and "Ernest Scared Stupid" every Christmas and Halloween respectively, "Ernest
Goes To Camp" every summer, (and I'm always on the lookout for his other movies
that weren't Ernest, of course!) and he can still make my family, friends and
myself laugh any time we see him in those. And he can still make us laugh when
we see "Ernest Goes To Jail," almost through the whole thing! That's a lot!

Thank you, Jim Varney.

Hey you guys I got and finally watched my "Ernest
Film Festival." It was so funny! Ernest is such a
cutie!! All you Ernest fans have got to add this to your
collection of Ernest videos! It is a must-have! It is simply
a whole bunch of Ernest commercials advertising
Sprite, Mello Yello, and other things. One thing that I
thought was kinda weird was that he did a real neat
commercial about not smoking. He said "I care about ya Vern"
and tried to get him to stop smoking. I just find
that strange because Jim Varney smoked and in fact
died of the cancer it brought upon him didn't he? It's
kinda like on "Ernest Goes To Jail" where they ask him
if he wants a cigarette and he goes "cigarette's 'l
kill ya!" I think he recognized that what he was doing
wasn't good and that he was addicted, but he didn't want
other people to start.

Karen =)
GOD BLESS
AMERICA

Hey I just thought I'd drop ya'll a note telling
you that I just bought a couple of Ernest things off
eBay. I got an Ernest "Hey Vern! Knowhatimean" pin, and
a video: 101 Ernest Hey Vern commercials and
bloopers. I haven't gotten them yet, but when I do I'll be
sure to let you guys know about it! In case you
haven't checked there, you should! There is a lot of
Ernest & Jim Varney stuff there, including movies that
are still in the original factory wrap! Just search
for "Jim Varney" and all kinds of stuff will come up.
It's nifty because you don't need a credit card *yay*
and you can get stuff for cheep! Right now someone
has put up for sale (on eBay) a picture of Jim and
another guy kissing a big model of Slinky dog from Toy
Story (Jim did the voice of that character) and the
actual shirt Jim was wearing in the photo. It's very
expensive, but hey just thought I'd tell you
guys!!

-Karen =)

The Christmas one is really cute. My cousins love
it and we all watch it every Christmas. We also
watch "Scared Stupid" every year around Halloween,
although it's fun to watch them any time of the year. He's
made a bunch of movies, and I think I've seen most of
them except the one about basketball. I'm going to try
to find it at the video store. I'll tell others
about this site.

I've always liked Jim Varney since the "Ernest Saves Christmas" and "Scared
Stupid" movies. I don't think he ever got the credit he deserved for his comedy
style.
