Re: Slums of Beverly Hills

Hi Summer - hey thanks for the "Grounded for
Life" info! I am really enjoying the show - I think
last week's episode was the best so far.

I
liked "Kicked in the Head" a lot, even though I don't
really think the ending is too realistic (but then again
maybe it is, considering the characters.) It's
entertaining, but it's nowhere near the calibre of Slums, which
I think is easily one of the best independent films
ever made. The script, the acting - everything is just
amazing. The nice thing about "Kicked in the Head" is that
Kevin co-wrote it, and it's based on where his life was
at the time - which is very neat and gives a true
fan a little insight into his (warped? did somone say
warped? hehehe) mind.

I bought this film from
amazon.com, if I'm not mistaken - it was either there or
Yahoo Auctions. Unless you live in a very hip city with
an excellent video store, I doubt you'll find the
movie. I couldn't find it anywhere in my city - in fact,
no one even had it in their databases - but then
again I live in South Carolina. :) I do live in the
biggest city in the state though - but still had to buy
it to see it.

In "Detroit Rock City" Kevin
had a tiny role as a mechanic in the chop shop
(remember, the boys' car is stolen and taken to a garage?)
Two mechanics (of which Kevin was one) had Natasha
Lyonne tied up and were making like they were going to
rape her.

Okay, I've got to run to work now,
but I'll try to check in more often now that I know
someone's here! hehehe Believe me, when I first joined this
club I was in your position - replying to my own
messages too! :Þ When I first discovered Kevin I was so
excited about it that I worked for months on my website.
One of these days I'll go back through it and update
to include his show and his later films, but it's
bloody hard to find much on him online - or anywhere
really. I am really confident that this good series is
going to get him more widely noticed.

Well, see
ya! I hope more people will join because of the show
(and post!!)

Love,
Eve

p.s. Tammy,
what happened to your page?
