After her debut movie Doli Sajake Rakhna, Jyotika was seen as one of the best new talents around. She made her Tamil debut in the movie titled Vaalee. Although she only had a small role in it, she gained a place in the hearts of her new fans down South. Following that came her other movies like Poovellam Kettupar, Mugavari, Kushi and a whole string of movies of which many were major hits. 2003 was an excellent year for Jo who made a big comeback with blockbuster hits like Dhool, Kaakha Kaakha and Tagore (Telugu). These movies received a terrific response from the public and were much needed hits for Jo who experienced a quiet year in 2002 with only 2 movies. Jo started off 2004 with Arul opposite Vikram. Her Diwali release Manmadhanwas well recieved. Her Telugu film MASS - Dammunte Kasko had a fantastic opening and has received good reviews. Jo's much awaited movie, Chandramukhi where she acts with Rajnikanth for the first time, is a great success and has been dubbed as Jyotika's best performance ever. Her fans are eagerly awaiting her next movie, Vettaiyadu Vilayadu where she acts with Kamalhaasan for the second time in her career.
