Actors Johnny Galecki and Josh Meyers are set to topline FOX's comedy pilot
"Peep Show,"
based on the popular British format.
The series comes from Marcy Carsey and Tom Werner and is being positions as a
modern
odd couple. Jackie Filgo and Jeff Filgo of the Carsey-Werner comedy "That '70s
Show," are
expected to write the pilot script and executive produce.
"Peep Show" airs on Britain's Channel 4 and focuses on mismatched flatmates
Jeremy, a
wannabe pop star, and Mark, an obsessive loser. It's unclear which character
will be played
by Galecki and which will be embodied by Meyers. Alexandra Holden has also been
cast in
the pilot, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The show's twist is that the sometimes demented thoughts of the two main
characters can
often be heard. The original show has gotten inside their minds on issues like
masturbation, death and male genitalia.
Galecki is still probably best known for his five-season run on ABC's
"Roseanne." The
actor's subsequent credits include the features "The Opposite of Sex" and
"Vanilla Sky."
Meyers is a veteran of multiple seasons of "MADtv," while Holden is most
familiar from her
guest run as Ross' college-aged girlfriend on "Friends."
