I have this thing in mind. How can someone as gorgeous and talented
as Jim Davidson still be playing small roles in films and tv shows?

I've been a fan since the first episode of Pacific Blue, and it
always makes me wonder why he's still not a big hollywood leading
man, or have his OWN tv show?

I'm going to be frank here. I'm a gay man, and I know A LOT of other
gay men who thinks Jim Davidson is the most beautiful thing they've
ever seen. His name often pops up in popular gay message boards and a
good drooling topic as sex symbol. And then of course he's got it
with women too. Browsing around Jim Davidson websites and
YahooGroups, you know women love him.

But it seems like he's not maximizing his appeal by appearing in
better and challening roles. He continually show up in fleeting
scenes in films, or tv shows that only a few have access to. I'm sure
most of them require him to undress, but if that is required I guess
so be it.

I can think of 2 logical explanation for this:

1. Having visited some Jim Davidson fansites/websites, and I realize
that he's deeply religious. He PROBABLY finds Hollywood to be
manipulative and exploitative, which I guess is true especially for a
man who look as beautiful as he is.

2. He doesn't want fame and popularity (which is the subject of this
post).

On both cases, I think that celebrities would have found them
manageable. I guess all these are for naught, whatever he wants to do
and makes him happy, there's nothing we can do. I just wish Jim gets
a better break than he deserves, that's all.

other Jim Davidson groups too. I have thought about this "essay" for
a long time because I love this guy Jim and I know a lot of others
are disappointed with his career choices. I tried to post on some Jim
Davidson website, but it's members only. They should not have linked
it on that site, it looks like a personal chat room or something.
