Thanks, I've got it all undercontrol and thank goodness a real
computer expert in the home (PhD in computer engineering) so after an
afternoon of stress we are good. Like I said, we are pretty safe in
this house but if there is a new virus that the security software
can't detect, you are screwed.
Trust me, we have a firewall and security software. This is just one
that slipped through the radar. So if it slipped through all our fire
walls I can't suggest other people go to 'vote for jerry' and also be
at risk of getting this virus. Security software doesn't catch
everything. When we researched this virus, it turns out other people
have gotten the same one from an unamed "Celebrity News Web Site". I
So all I can do is warn people to view hello magazine's web site at
your own risk since it probably has 3rd party ads with imbedded bad
content. If that ad is imbedded into their page (not a pop-up) then
you are just screwed if your virus software lets it through. Ads
rotate, so I had been on the site for days w/o a problem. I would
contact the web site, but don't even want to log onto it now to find
their contact e-mail. Not worth the risk.

helpful. Also it would be a good idea to contact the magazine site
and let them know that there site gave you a virus. I have a free
spyware blocker software called Spyware Terminator Its a pain in the
butt when you install new software because you have to allow all the
parts of the software but I cant count how many potiential viruses and
spyware viruses it stopped. And that is also something you need to
scan for spyware. Not all viruses are just a virus. It quite
possibly could be spyware. I wish you the best of luck and I hope
that your computer restore goes well.
