NEW YORK - Jennifer Lopez (news), Justin Timberlake (news) and Kylie Minogue
(news) are among the nominees for the second annual American Dance Music Awards.
The awards, to be presented March 19 in Miami, will be hosted by actresses
Juliette Lewis (news) and Roselyn Sanchez (news). The awards are sponsored by
the publishers of DanceStar magazine; fans determine the winners by voting
online at www.dancestar.com.
Lopez, Timberlake and Madonna (news - web sites) are nominated for best chart
act, along with Angie Stone (news) and Mariah Carey (news). The award honors
mainstream stars who produced dance music.
Dirty Vegas' "Days Go By," Minogue's "Can't Get You Out of My Head" and Daniel
Bedingfield (news)'s "Gotta Get Thru This" are among the songs nominated for
record of the year.
There's even a category for "Best Use of Music in a Commercial." Among the
nominees are Dirty Vegas' "Days Go By," which was used in a Mitsubishi ad, and
Basement Jaxx's "Where's Your Head At," which was the background music for
Pringles.
