Café Lou's and New Edge Theater want to thank supporters who
showed up last night for the free screening of City Lore's
"Mambo to Hip Hop" and particularly Latin Jazz superstar Papo
Vazquez for taking time out from his touring schedule to participate
in the event. Thank you as well to City Lore director Steve for
being on hand for the event.

We're doing it again next Tuesday same Edge time same Edge
channel - Café Lou's in the North Bronx 3060 Boston Road. Live
performance provided by members of El Extremes Electric Cabaret and
the film shorts "La Cabra" and "Clean" plus excerpts
from the filmed musical tribute to the late Nuyorican Poet Pedro
Pietri.

Admission Free. MAP OF CAFE LOUS LOCATION IN GROUP FILES SECTION)

In the meantime, Big Ups to the three hundred extremistas who signed
up for the New Edge Mambo Hip Hop Yahoo group during our inaugural
two week registration drive. You helped us reach our subscription
goal five days ahead of schedule.

(Open registration to New Edge continues through Friday and will
switch to a "moderated" subscription plan starting this
Sunday; new members will have to submit a statement and be reviewed
by New Edge Theater before admission. In the future membership will
only be by referral by a member.)

As a token of gratitude, the company has released a studio cut from
it upcoming Boxed set release covering thirty years of El Extremes
work "Mambo X Man" entitled "Redemption" on our group
archive site www.elextreme.info

Members are in on the ground floor of an exciting new venture to
present virtual Nuyorican Theater globally through the Internet. The
group plans to go private as of September (when company director
Luis Chaluisan begins his doctoral studies) and unleash a three tier
streaming video and audio site wherein you can enjoy live
performances dating back to 1978 from the Extreme archive collection
in the privacy of your home.

There's a heap of material and guest appearances with El Extreme
by classic stars such as Machito, Miguelito Valdez, Flautist Nestor
Torres, Conjunto Libre at the New Rican Village The Wet Shavers,
performances from Teatro Puerto Rico, the Nuyorican Café plus
interviews from the classic age of Salsa (1977-1983) drawn from
Latin NY Magazine. And that's just the start!

New Edge Cabaret Theater – we put the industrial drill bits in
Internet performance. (Don't forget to vote in our Latina Actress
poll and write in names if your favorite star doesn't appear.)
