Dear Ms James,
Graceland has in its archives the actual original paintings done by Loxi Sibley. Colonel Parker purchased the rights to mass produce these images on posters and other memorabilia to be sold at concerts. [that is true] Along with the original artwork, Graceland has numerous copies of these posters and other prints done by Loxi Sibley. [that is probably true also] However, to the best of my of my knowledge, these originals and prints have never been display inside the mansion. [this is the one that I'm not really clear on, I've had numerous friends and family call, write and email me that they had been to Memphis and visited Graceland and took the tour, the last decade included, and were all excited because they said they said the portrait I painted of Elvis hanging in Graceland. As far as the prints go, Elvis had some of them that were framed and gave them to close friends, Kathy Westmoreland and Ginger Alden among them. Jo Alden was with her daughter, Ginger, and Elvis and they were in the pool area at Graceland when Elvis reportedly called Ginger over to see this beautiful art work done by a young artist named Loxi Sibley [there words, not mine] and they told me that he loved my work. I know that this might not mean anything to anyone else but it means a lot to me. I could understand it if one or even two people might have been mistaken, but to have so many people who did not know each other tell me over a period of the last twenty plus years, that they saw one my paintings of Elvis with the mic hanging in Graceland, what would you believe? However, if it's not true and they all lied to me, well then, that would be one major coincidence? Remember, this all started in 1976. I'm not sure what to make of all this but I don't want anything that isn't mine [meaning true] Maybe one was displayed in the trophy building during the first few years of operation from Elvis' collection but would have to research it.
Respectively yours,
Loxi Sibley
CC to my mail list. And if you, my mail list friends, would pass it on maybe we, I, will learn more about what is going on, if anything. Oh my gosh, I'm so confused! Thank you, Hugs, Loxi.
